LU is focused guiding for seeing there is no real, inherent 'self' - what do you understand by this?
If seen accurately, the experience of being a human being is a constant changing flow of impressions fuelled by the sensory channels of the body. The only thing that does not change, as it has no attributes, is awareness , which could be compared to empty space, formless, without boundaries, unchanging, indescribable. That is the best I can put it.
What are you looking for at LU?
I am reading the book "Finding Awakening" by Christiane Michelberger at the moment, and would be interested in a similar guidance to deepen realization. I am especially interested in a permanent shift as is described here.
What do you expect from a guided conversation?
Similar results to what is described in the above mentioned book. A "shift" through seeing through the ten fetters. Apart from that I would value a personal contact with someone who is firmly established in this shift.
What is your experience in terms of spiritual practices, seeking and inquiry?
I am 68 years am and a medical doctor and have been practicing various approaches since I was about 20 starting with Vipassana courses as from 1981, the EST Training various Rajneesh practices, and many more. At present I am participating in Balanced View (Tibetan Lineage). I have had frequent and undeniable realizations of no-self, and would like to take on the process of seeing through the 10 Fetters.
On a scale from 1 to 10, how willing are you to question any currently held beliefs about 'self?
