Back for guidance
Re: Back for guidance
Still working on the 4th step. Also keep doing the 3rd step whenever there's a mirror close by and it is clear there is no connection between the sensations and movements.
Re: Back for guidance
Some progress this morning seeing no connection to sensations and hand movement. Had to leave for work but will continue and make sure to see it clearly before moving on to the next steps.
Re: Back for guidance
Still on step 4 but brief moments of noticing no connection of sensations and hand movements. Will keep at it throughout the day
Re: Back for guidance
Still on step 4, paying more attention to what is actually seen which is helping me notice the position of sensations are thoughts. Not always seen clearly yet but keeping at it.

Thanks Jeff, continuing to look. Noticing more visual thoughts as thoughts and not what is seen, thoughts of progress and finding the exercise helpful.
Re: Back for guidance
Continuing to look. Spent some time trying to notice thoughts of position more clearly by opening and closing my hand while moving it with my eyes closed. Trying to notice how if the hand moves close to the body or further away by straightening the arm the sensations don't get closer or further away. Not seeing that clearly but will continue that with morning meditation.

Re: Back for guidance
When your attention is only in the sensation and there are no thoughts, do you find any information about position intrinsic to the sensation, or is the position a thought? Do you see yourself in imagination overlaying a visual image of a body with a visualized hand in relation to the visualized body?

Re: Back for guidance
Hi Jeff, yes I see the positions are just visual thoughts, visualising a hand moving around a visualised body. Still difficult to always see this but will keep it up. When meditating for awhile it is easier to see sensations have no position.
I also noticed when the hand moves in front of my closed eyes there's a visual thought of it impeding my sight. I meditate before the sun is up so it's too dark to notice much even with open eyes. Continuing to work on that during morning meditation and then the step 4 exercise throughout the day.

Re: Back for guidance
Continuing to look, didn't get much time yesterday but still working onthe exercise as much as possible.
Re: Back for guidance
Going well the last day, noticed no connection between the hand and sensations most times I looked. Will keep at it today!

Still working on step 4, trying to notice no connection with sensations when moving the hand. Continuing to look throughout the day when I can.
Re: Back for guidance
Sorry Jeff got carried away this morning and forgot to report. Going well with noticing no connection, noticing more often, hope to be ready to move onto step 5 soon!

Re: Back for guidance
Step 4 is going well, constantly noticing no connection between sensations and the hand movement when looking directly at it. Going to visit family today so will continue working on the exercise when I can
