Hey Sanna,
Can you have a careful LOOK at this and let me know if such a thing as ‘walking’ can be found.
No, walking is just a label for a thought. No walking can be found in AE.
There is also the actual experience of sensation…of the ‘feet touching the floor’, ‘arms swinging’ etc.

Okay…so I would like to check in and see where you are at with the exploration so far.

Has it been clearly seen that there is no separate individual (“I/me”), and never has been?
Has it been clearly seen that there has never been a separate individual that could control or own life or anything?
Is there any chooser or decider of any kind?
Is there a separate individual/entity of any kind whatsoever that could be responsible for anything at all?
Is there a thinker of thought?
Has there ever been a separate self doing anything?
Is there a self in the body somewhere? Does it have a certain location, or feelings associated with it, or any other attributes?
Is there a self that is inside the body, perceiving a world that is outside?
Do you notice a difference now, to when you first started this exploration, and if so what are those differences?
Is there any confusion at all or anything you would like to address?

Hi Kay,

Great, lets see where "I" am going..
Has it been clearly seen that there is no separate individual (“I/me”), and never has been?
Yes and no. I feel that I "get the point"; I "know" all the "right answers" but in everyday life things are about the same as we started this exploration. I understand that the has never been no separate individual, seeing that is not happening "naturally" yet.
Has it been clearly seen that there has never been a separate individual that could control or own life or anything?
Clearly: no. But when I "look", I can see this.
Is there any chooser or decider of any kind?
Part of me still thinks that I am choosing/deciding, but I know that it is false thinking.
Is there a separate individual/entity of any kind whatsoever that could be responsible for anything at all?
Same answer here.
Is there a thinker of thought?
No, thoughts are just appearing.
Has there ever been a separate self doing anything?
No.
Is there a self in the body somewhere? Does it have a certain location, or feelings associated with it, or any other attributes?
I still feel the "separate self" within me, somewhere inside the head: observing, thinking, deciding, doing...
Is there a self that is inside the body, perceiving a world that is outside?
Yep, still feeling that.
Do you notice a difference now, to when you first started this exploration, and if so what are those differences?
Yes, of course!
- Even though I still feel the "Sanna" within me, I feel that I'm somehow more distant from "my story". I see that it is only thoughts and they are not true.
- It is also happening more and more that in everyday activities it is not "me" who is doing things, I see that things are just happening. So I feel more stressfree/happy/easygoing knowing that it is not me who is doing things but things are just happening.
- I am also amazed how freaking beautiful and overwhelming this Maya is! How it is soooo easy to get distracted and sucked into Maya and lose the interest to LOOK.
- I've noticed some small things happening: some things that I need come to me instantly.
Is there any confusion at all or anything you would like to address?
Are these "doubts"/thoughts part of the "normal" process or do you think this is going anywhere?

Love, Sanna

Hi Sanna...this is a long post...so take your time with it :)
Since there has never been a separate self/person, and this is the way it is and always has been…what would it feel like not to be a person?

When seeing that Santa Claus was just a story….did life change? Christmas still comes, Santa still appears on every street corner, Christmas trees with lights still appear and gifts are still exchanged. So Santa did not stop appearing…but it is known that he is just a fictional character!

So, the story of a character called ‘Sanna’ isn’t going to disappear, nor will the continuing story of/about ‘Sanna’ stop. What happens is the recognition that the character and the story is just that….a story. Just like knowing that a sunset is the AE of colour doesn’t mean a sunset will never appear…but you are aware that what thought labels as a sunset is the AE of colour; however the thoughts about a sunset are still going to appear as well.

Has it been clearly seen that there has never been a separate individual that could control or own life or anything?
Clearly: no. But when I "look", I can see this.
Great...so keep LOOKING; however, what is the expectation? Are you wanting the identification with an “I/self” to stop as proof that you have 100% clearly seen that there is no self? But that idea/thought is just another thought bubble and is seen in utter clarity. Even the idea that something is identifying with thought is just an idea. There is NOTHING here that can identify with thought. Only thought says that something is identifying as anything.
Is there any chooser or decider of any kind?
Part of me still thinks that I am choosing/deciding, but I know that it is false thinking.

Which part exactly “still thinks that I am choosing/deciding”? Describe this part to me in precise detail and describe to me where it is located. Is that not just another thought bubble appearing?
Is there a self in the body somewhere? Does it have a certain location, or feelings associated with it, or any other attributes?
I still feel the "separate self" within me, somewhere inside the head: observing, thinking, deciding, doing...
And is this “feeling” an actual sensation, and if it is, does this sensation know anything about a “separate self” or is this “feeling” actually a thought? Describe to me what inside of the head looks like. If you reside in the head, then you must know what it looks like there! Is there a little you, sitting inside the head somewhere....LOOK and see if you can find it!

Image

It is generally believed that thoughts are coming from the head somewhere around the forehead. When we try to trace back the origin of a thought, it is often believed that it's coming from the forehead, because the attention automatically goes to the sensation of the forehead. Investigate this carefully as often as you can throughout the day.

What is the forehead in the actual experience?
A sensation + a mental image (of a forehead), right?

So, can a thought come from a sensation?
Can a thought come from a mental image?

Have a very deep look here... the forehead is one of the 'residence' of the SENSE of self. Or rather say, the sensation that is labelled as forehead is believed to be one of the location of the sense of self.
Is there a self that is inside the body, perceiving a world that is outside?
Yep, still feeling that.
Thought says that the foot is ‘down there’. So presumably you are above your foot. Where are you? Sit quietly, close your eyes, take a few breaths and locate where you feel yourself to be. Locate yourself vertically in the body, horizontally to the left or right, and depth, how far in. Feel how big you are, where you reside.
Then point with a finger to ‘you’. Open your eyes and let me know where your finger is pointing?

It is also believed that both the 'visual sight' and 'mental images' are coming from the eyes, because when it's investigated the attention automatically goes to the sensation 'of the eyes', and at the same time the image 'of the eyes' appear with it.

So another SENSE of self is linked to the sensation 'of the eyes'.

What are the eyes in the actual experience?
A sensation + a mental image, right?

Can sight come from a sensation?
Can sight come from an image (of the eyes)?

Can a 'mental image' come from a sensation?
Can a 'mental image' come from another mental image (of the eyes)?

Lovely, Sanna. So a shift in perception has occurred, and this is the subtleness of the shift. There are no trumpeting angels or flashing white lights etc, there is just this gentle shift in perception.
Is there any confusion at all or anything you would like to address?
Are these "doubts"/thoughts part of the "normal" process or do you think this is going anywhere?

Doubt and confusion are normal and will continue to appear for some time after seeing through the idea of the separate self. Seeing through the separate self is just a beginning and not an ending. There are other realisations that will continue to occur after ‘gating’. The key is to continue LOOKING and being persistent, consistent in LOOKING - day in and day out.

Let’s have a look at the idea of ‘confusion’ (and do this for ‘doubt’ as well)

The label ‘confusion’ is the AE of thought and not the AE of confusion
The thoughts about ‘confusion’ are the AE of thought and not the AE of confusion
The sensation labelled ‘confusion’ is the AE of sensation and not the AE of confusion
The image labelled ‘me/body’ is the AE of colour and not the AE of confusion.

So, in actual experience, can anyone/anything be found that is confused? Or what is really appearing is label + sensation + colour + thoughts ABOUT confusion?

When thought, colour, sensation, smell, taste, sound appear…is there any confusion or doubt at all to when they appear and what they are?

Hi Kay,

Thank you for the long post :)
Since there has never been a separate self/person, and this is the way it is and always has been…what would it feel like not to be a person?
Hmmm.. hard to say... but I assume that it would feel unattached, clear"headed", natural.

This gave me a big revelation, thank you for being so clear with your writing! I acknowledged that one reason I've felt frustration is that I've had some weird expectations. Probably based on my previous experiences with "spiritual scheisse"... So good, let the sunsets keep on appearing!
Which part exactly “still thinks that I am choosing/deciding”? Describe this part to me in precise detail and describe to me where it is located. Is that not just another thought bubble appearing?
I think it would be the same part that I think is creating the thoughts, like there would be some active "creator" within me. Darn.. this could come also from the spiritual circles.. because there is this common belief that "we all are creators, we all are God, we self create our own universe".
But yes, it is only a thought, nothing else. No-one is choosing/deciding anything.
Yes, I see it now, it is only a thought. The following helped a lot:
So, can a thought come from a sensation?
Can a thought come from a mental image?
Have a very deep look here... the forehead is one of the 'residence' of the SENSE of self. Or rather say, the sensation that is labelled as forehead is believed to be one of the location of the sense of self.
How funny this really is: we (us people) really believe, that the sensation of a label "forehead" is the master of everything!! :D So no, thought cannot come from a sensation or a mental image.

It really feels like we are removing layers so slowly slowly I can see more clearly. You really are amazing Kay! Thank you!!
Then point with a finger to ‘you’. Open your eyes and let me know where your finger is pointing?
I cannot point "me" anywhere, "me" is not to be found.
Can sight come from a sensation?
Can sight come from an image (of the eyes)?

Can a 'mental image' come from a sensation?
Can a 'mental image' come from another mental image (of the eyes)?
Maybe too tired for this puzzle (it is midnight here) but no to everything.
Lovely, Sanna. So a shift in perception has occurred, and this is the subtleness of the shift. There are no trumpeting angels or flashing white lights etc, there is just this gentle shift in perception.
This is really good to hear and as I wrote earlier, I've had some expectations that I now realize that they are only thoughts.
So, in actual experience, can anyone/anything be found that is confused? Or what is really appearing is label + sensation + colour + thoughts ABOUT confusion?
No, no-one/nothing can be found that is confused. As you stated it is only label+sensation+color+thoughts about confusion.
When thought, colour, sensation, smell, taste, sound appear…is there any confusion or doubt at all to when they appear and what they are?
It feels that this is an important "key" to me.. Don't know how exactly but soon this will open more :)
No, in AE when they appear, there is definitely no confusion or doubt.

It is nice to notice that I want to laugh at my yesterdays answers! :D

Hey Sanna,

I so enjoy reading your posts…

Take your time…there is no rush to get this done…the importance is in seeing everything clearly, even if the idea appears that the clarity SEEMS to come and go.
Since there has never been a separate self/person, and this is the way it is and always has been…what would it feel like not to be a person?
Hmmm.. hard to say... but I assume that it would feel unattached, clear"headed", natural.
Did you really read my question? If there has never been a ‘person’, then how would you know what it would feel like not to be one?

What is it exactly that is ‘attached’ or ‘unattached’, and attached or unattached to what?
What does ‘natural’ mean? What is the AE of 'natural'?

Do you have any choice or control over what thoughts appear or not appear? Are you the author and owner of thought?

Just like knowing that a sunset is the AE of colour doesn’t mean a sunset will never appear…but you are aware that what thought labels as a sunset is the AE of colour; however the thoughts about a sunset are still going to appear as well.
This gave me a big revelation, thank you for being so clear with your writing! I acknowledged that one reason I've felt frustration is that I've had some weird expectations. Probably based on my previous experiences with "spiritual scheisse"... So good, let the sunsets keep on appearing!
Yes, ‘new age’ spirituality creates a lot of expectations and baggage that has to be unlearned!

Thought either points to AE or it point to further thoughts, for example:-

Sound labelled "tweet" isn't story, but story can say that a blue bird down the street made that sound.
Taste labelled "sweet" isn't a story, but story can be, "I love candy".
Colour isn't story, but thought could say, "Wow! What a spectacular sunset!"
See the difference?
If colour labelled "sunset," isn't experience as you presently find it to be, then it IS story. And story cannot be changed. If it could, you'd be a thinker of thought.
Hmmm….when you did the exercise on looking at thought…did you find a creator of thought anywhere, or did thought just appear on its own?
This is really good to hear and as I wrote earlier, I've had some expectations that I now realize that they are only thoughts.
Yes…nice! Expectations, just like the ideas called ‘belief’ a ‘decision’ are just thoughts. Have a look to what they point to…do they point to anything but thought about thought?
When thought, colour, sensation, smell, taste, sound appear…is there any confusion or doubt at all to when they appear and what they are?
It feels that this is an important "key" to me.. Don't know how exactly but soon this will open more :)
No, in AE when they appear, there is definitely no confusion or doubt.
So confusion is showing up in the show that is never confused about what shows up in it!

Notice how there is no 'confusion' in the knowing of colour (known)
Notice how there is no 'confusion' in the knowing of sound (known)
Notice how there is no 'confusion' in the knowing of taste (known)
Notice how there is no 'confusion' in the knowing of smell (known)
Notice how there is no 'confusion' in the knowing of sensation (known)
Notice how there is no 'confusion' in the knowing of thought (known)
So where is this 'confusion'?
Is there any confusion in the knowing of the known?

I would like for you to play with this some more, so what I am pointing at becomes clear. To do this exercise, choose an object to look at and notice the sensations around the ‘eyes’; or just notice the sensations around the ‘eyes’ when you are reading this.

So, I t is believed that both 'visual sight' and 'mental images' are coming from the eyes, because when it's investigated the attention automatically goes to the sensation 'of the eyes', and at the same time the image 'of the eyes' appear with it.

Hi Kay,

I'm again laughing at my answers! :D
Did you really read my question? If there has never been a ‘person’, then how would you know what it would feel like not to be one?
I read it but didn't get it, obviously! I wouldn't know that, but I would say that it doesn't feel anything, because a person hasn't existed anyway.
What is it exactly that is ‘attached’ or ‘unattached’, and attached or unattached to what?
"Attached" and "unattached" are just labels for thoughts.
What does ‘natural’ mean? What is the AE of 'natural'?
"Natural" is also a label and there is no "natural" in AE.
Do you have any choice or control over what thoughts appear or not appear? Are you the author and owner of thought?
No choice or control over thoughts and there is no author or owner of thoughts. This seems to get clearer every day..
Hmmm….when you did the exercise on looking at thought…did you find a creator of thought anywhere, or did thought just appear on its own?
No, didn't find a creator, a thought just appeared.
So where is this 'confusion'? Is there any confusion in the knowing of the known?
The confusion is only in a story so there is no confusion in the knowing of the known.
Can sight come from a sensation?
Can sight come from an image (of the eyes)?
Can a 'mental image' come from a sensation?
Can a 'mental image' come from another mental image (of the eyes)?
No
No
Yes

Hey Sanna,
Did you really read my question? If there has never been a ‘person’, then how would you know what it would feel like not to be one?
I read it but didn't get it, obviously! I wouldn't know that, but I would say that it doesn't feel anything, because a person hasn't existed anyway.

Yes, so whatever is appearing is appearing…including the story about a character called Sanna living life on a planet called Earth! However, you are not the character, no matter how many times thought says you are.
So where is this 'confusion'? Is there any confusion in the knowing of the known?
The confusion is only in a story so there is no confusion in the knowing of the known.

Okay….so let’s look ‘knowing’ and ‘known’.

Can a dividing line be found between the knowing of a thought and the thought (which is known) itself? In other words is there a border where thought stops and the knowing of it begins?

Check this out with sound as well. Close the eyes and focus on a sound. Is there a dividing line between the knowing of the sound and the sound itself? In other words, where does ‘hearing’ end and the sound begin? You can do the above with sensation, smell and taste as well.

Sit and look at the ‘body’. What is there but colour (we are only looking at colour for this exercise)? Where is the dividing line between the colour labelled ‘body’ and the colour labelled ‘chair’? Where is the dividing line between the colour labelled ‘chair’ and the colour labelled ‘floor/rug’? Where is the dividing line between the colour labelled ‘floor/rug’ and the colour labelled ‘wall’? Is there a dividing line between the knowing of/as colour and colour (known) itself?

Hi there Kay,
Can a dividing line be found between the knowing of a thought and the thought (which is known) itself? In other words is there a border where thought stops and the knowing of it begins?
No, there is no dividing line between the knowing of the thought and the thought.
Check this out with sound as well. Close the eyes and focus on a sound. Is there a dividing line between the knowing of the sound and the sound itself? In other words, where does ‘hearing’ end and the sound begin? You can do the above with sensation, smell and taste as well.
Can't find dividing line anywhere.
Sit and look at the ‘body’. What is there but colour (we are only looking at colour for this exercise)?
There is only colour and a thought that labels the colour "body". So only colour (and shape, but does it count?).
The dividing line is a thought. So there is no dividing line between anything.
Is there a dividing line between the knowing of/as colour and colour (known) itself?
No dividing line.

Interesting exercise! Thank you Kay <3

Hey Sanna,

Wonderful LOOKING! :)
Can a dividing line be found between the knowing of a thought and the thought (which is known) itself? In other words is there a border where thought stops and the knowing of it begins?
No, there is no dividing line between the knowing of the thought and the thought.

Great! So there is no knowing AND known ie thought…there is only ‘knowingknown’. Knowing, experience and awareness are synonymous. In other words there is no experiencer AND experience….there is experiencerexperience. No awareness AND awared….only awarenessawared.
So, where is the separation in knowingknown?
Sit and look at the ‘body’. What is there but colour (we are only looking at colour for this exercise)?
There is only colour and a thought that labels the colour "body". So only colour (and shape, but does it count?).

Shapes are just different patterns of colour.

Have a look at the following picture. Thought says that the door is open and that there is no space between the edge of the door that is seen and the wall behind the door. But is there?

Image

Now, go open your front door like it is in this picture and have a look. Is the open door actually taking up ‘space’ and is there ‘space’ between door and the wall behind the door?
Where is the dividing line between the colour labelled ‘body’ and the colour labelled ‘chair’? Where is the dividing line between the colour labelled ‘chair’ and the colour labelled ‘floor/rug’? Where is the dividing line between the colour labelled ‘floor/rug’ and the colour labelled ‘wall’?
The dividing line is a thought. So there is no dividing line between anything.

Yes, exactly. So does this give you a hint about space, gaps and distance?
Is there a dividing line between the knowing of/as colour and colour (known) itself?
No dividing line.
Yes, there is no knowing and known…they are one and the same thing = knowingknown.

Image

Thought says that the yellow, orange and green areas are an object called ‘you’, and thought also calls these colours your body. Thought also says that the other colours are objects, and the light brown areas are objects called ‘animals’.

Now, drop all labels and thoughts ABOUT colour being specific objects….what is actually appearing is colour. There are also thoughts appearing that say that these colour(s) are specific objects. Without labels and thoughts all there is, is colour. Can you see this?

Thought also says that there is something behind the door and the window. How is it known that there is something behind the door and windows?

Dear Kay,
So, where is the separation in knowingknown?
No separation, of course! It is all the same.
Now, go open your front door like it is in this picture and have a look. Is the open door actually taking up ‘space’ and is there ‘space’ between door and the wall behind the door?
No, it is only a thought that is suggesting that.
Now, drop all labels and thoughts ABOUT colour being specific objects….what is actually appearing is colour. There are also thoughts appearing that say that these colour(s) are specific objects. Without labels and thoughts all there is, is colour. Can you see this?
Yes, oh my! It is freaking crazy that the "body" we have is only a thought! Or better to say that it is only colours but that it is a thought that says "hey, these colours here are your body!". No wonder it is so exhausting to live because you need to constantly keep up the show of thoughts..
Thought also says that there is something behind the door and the window. How is it known that there is something behind the door and windows?
It is a thought that says that there is something. But actually we don't know that. We just know the colours, nothing more.

Hey Sanna,
Now, go open your front door like it is in this picture and have a look. Is the open door actually taking up ‘space’ and is there ‘space’ between door and the wall behind the door?
No, it is only a thought that is suggesting that.

So what is AE of the ‘space’ between the door and the wall behind the door?

Thought also says that there is something behind the door and the window. How is it known that there is something behind the door and windows?
It is a thought that says that there is something. But actually we don't know that. We just know the colours, nothing more.
Unless you are aware of something, how is it known that it exists? So how is it known that anything exists beyond the door and window? Is there actual experience of actually knowing what is beyond the door and window or only thoughts about things ie a world etc beyond the door and window?

The idea that there is something known beyond the door and window is based on the idea of memory which is based on the idea of time. So let’s have a look at these ideas.

There is a general assumption that there is linear time that started (if started at all) somewhere very far in the past and advances to the distant future. The present moment (now) is considered to be a very small fragment of time or an event that is moving forward on this linear time, coming from the past and advancing to the future.

But is there an experience that the ’now’ is moving along the line of time?
Any experience of one ‘moment’ giving way to the next?
Any actual experience of one event following another?

How fast is the ‘present moment’ actually moving?

Just look at 'this moment', can you find a point where it began?

How long does the ‘now’ last?

Where does the ‘now’ start, and where does it end?

When does the ‘now’ exactly become the 'past'?

What is the ‘past’ in actual experience?

So is there actual experience of ‘time’ or thoughts about ‘time’?

Hi again Kay,
So what is AE of the ‘space’ between the door and the wall behind the door?
It is just colours.
Unless you are aware of something, how is it known that it exists? So how is it known that anything exists beyond the door and window? Is there actual experience of actually knowing what is beyond the door and window or only thoughts about things ie a world etc beyond the door and window?
We don't know what is beyond the door and the windows, it is only thoughts about possible things.
I've often thought when travelling that it feels like that the place I'm traveling to exist only for that period of "time" that I'm there and after that it doesn't exist.. Sounds about right :)
But is there an experience that the ’now’ is moving along the line of time?
In AE: no.
Any experience of one ‘moment’ giving way to the next?
No. It is just a thought pattern.
Any actual experience of one event following another?
No, there is only the present moment in AE.
How fast is the ‘present moment’ actually moving?
It isn't, it is always now.
Just look at 'this moment', can you find a point where it began?
No, it didn't start at any point.
How long does the ‘now’ last?
"How long" is based on an idea of time, so "now" doesn't last, it is now.
Where does the ‘now’ start, and where does it end?
It doesn't start or end, it is now.
When does the ‘now’ exactly become the 'past'?
Same here, "past" is based on an idea of time, it doesn't exist in AE.
What is the ‘past’ in actual experience?
There isn't past in AE.
So is there actual experience of ‘time’ or thoughts about ‘time’?
No time in AE, there are only thoughts about time.

This is a freaking interesting journey! Thank you for your assistance Kay <3

Hi Sanna,

Lovely LOOKING! Let's move onto 'memory'!

Almost everybody believes that a memory thought is referring to something that has happened. That a memory thought is a different thought than a non-memory thought.

What is memory exactly – please don’t go to thought explanation, but just let a memory be there, and look at it…

What is the memory ‘made of’?
WHEN does the memory appear?

What is the exact difference between a ‘general’ thought and a ‘memory’ thought?

How is it known EXACTLY that a ‘memory’ thought refers to something that has happened?

Then, look at a thought about the future.
What is the future thought ‘made of’?

WHEN does the future thought appear?

What is the exact difference between a ‘general’ thought and a ‘future’ thought?
How is it known EXACTLY that a ‘future’ thought refers to something that will happen?

Then let’s compare a thought about past and a thought about the future.
What is the EXACT difference between the thoughts about past and future?
If there is difference, how that difference is known exactly?

Look at what is actually going on and not what thoughts say… but what actually is.

Love, Kay

Hi Kay,

This was really touch one..
What is the memory ‘made of’?
The memory is made of colours, sensations, tastes, sounds and/or smells.
WHEN does the memory appear?
It appears now.
What is the exact difference between a ‘general’ thought and a ‘memory’ thought?
There is no difference between them.
How is it known EXACTLY that a ‘memory’ thought refers to something that has happened?
We don't know that. Has it ever happened?
Then, look at a thought about the future. What is the future thought ‘made of’?
This is somehow even harder than the memory thought.. But I would say that it is also made of colours, sensations, tastes, sounds and/or smells.
WHEN does the future thought appear?
It also appears now.
What is the exact difference between a ‘general’ thought and a ‘future’ thought?
Don't see any difference.
How is it known EXACTLY that a ‘future’ thought refers to something that will happen?
We cannot know that.
Then let’s compare a thought about past and a thought about the future. What is the EXACT difference between the thoughts about past and future?
No difference.
If there is difference, how that difference is known exactly?

Wow, this was somehow really hard one for me.. Hard to see clearly..

Hey Sanna,

It may have been tough for you…but you did a great job of LOOKING!
What is the memory ‘made of’?
The memory is made of colours, sensations, tastes, sounds and/or smells.
What is the AE of ‘memory’? In other words, what does the label ‘memory’ point to? Does it point to anything other than the AE of thought?

Does colour know anything about ‘memory’?
Does sensation know anything about ‘memory’?
Does taste know anything about ‘memory’?
Does smell know anything about ‘memory’?
Does sound know anything about ‘memory’?
Does thought know anything about ‘memory’?
How is it known EXACTLY that a ‘memory’ thought refers to something that has happened?
We don't know that. Has it ever happened?
If you refer back to the ‘time’ exercise, is memory really possible? Yes, there is an appearance of thought saying that something is remembered…but how is that known? What happened yesterday appears right now as just a story and is no more truer than Cinderella.

In actual experience....
Where is last week?
Where is yesterday?
Where is this morning?
Where is five minutes ago?
Where is one minute ago?
Where is one *second* ago?
Can you find any of these? Can you find *one second ago*?

Then, look at a thought about the future. What is the future thought ‘made of’?
This is somehow even harder than the memory thought.. But I would say that it is also made of colours, sensations, tastes, sounds and/or smells.
Thoughts about the future are just that…thoughts! If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? If a forest or trees are not the actual experience now (ie AE of colour now) then how is forest or tree known? And therefore how would it be known that a tree falls and that when it does, that it makes a sound?

This is a dream analogy of how all time is contained in an instant.
In the opening instant of a dream you find the 1st person dream character speeding along a highway towards the airport, because he is late for his holiday flight, because his wife couldn't find her passport.
Now you will notice that this is just the opening instant of the dream, yet it contains a whole "history" of being a person who is an adult and is married to a woman who left her passport behind, etc. It contains "memories" of having the drama with the lost passport, and it has a whole imaginary future too, in the flight and the holiday.
Do you see the analogy that is being drawn?

Love, Kay
