Re: EXPERIMENT - FAO New honest enthusiastic green wanted

Excellent advice. I am not a guide but I certainly appreciate the effort y'all make to help. The patience is impressive. If it would do any good, I would apologize for rude comments I've seen posted to guides.

I hope your new strategy works. I like it.

Thanks for hanging in here. Denis

Re: Denis, please post here

You and Moonlight deserve all the credit for hanging in with me. I will keep in touch and likely 'try' to help. Your work is most important. I'll be gone today but may be back to the computer tonight.

thanks a ton,
denis :-)

Re: Denis, please post here

Hi Chris,

Enjoyed the chat. Am still impressed with the patience you show.

1) Is there a 'me', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form? Was there ever?

No, absolutely no me. Have been watching the last two days and am so convinced that I know there never was a 'me.'

2) Explain in detail ...

Re: Denis, please post here

Hi Chris,

Have been LOOKING today and ignoring the analysis. Events are just happening, No 'me'. Liberating to let go of control, to know there really is no me to control events. They are going to flow and be experienced.

Have to make a judgement based on thoughts here: It has been a very good ...

Re: Denis, please post here

Geez. Here I go analyzing again. Maybe I don't know how to look without analysis? Maybe it's synonymous for me? "Thinking" not LOOKING? When you say 'look,' does that mean with the senses? How else can we look?

When I look, I see, feel and hear a body (maybe smell it too). So the mind interprets ...

Re: Denis, please post here

Very good question Chris. 'What else do I need to see?'

Nothing. It is time I stop looking!? I love to analyze. I was an Aerospace Analyst and professor. Lots of conditioning and curiosity to ask how and why. This has been a challenge to find a 'right answer.' If I stop looking, what will I do ...

Re: Denis, please post here

No, was trying to say I don't know of the bio-chemical changes via direct experience. It's only intellectual based on lots of evidence.

Based on direct experience, there is no 'me' but I am still attached to the mind/body especially when feeling down. Perhaps it's just conditioning and habit and ...

Re: Denis, please post here

Hi Chris,

Sorry I missed the 'you' in your 'no you observing the observer' comment this morning.

No 'me,' just observations occurring. I did notice today that thoughts originate as a singularity from nothing. The singularity expands rapidly, but not instantly, into awareness...then there is an ...

Re: Denis, please post here

That there is observing an observation, then another observing of that observation. I now am observing an observation of observing.

Re: Denis, please post here

Hi Chris,

Have been looking quite often in the last 24 hours. What I see is that thoughts come from nowhere out of nothing, although they are triggered by sensations and interpreted from memories. Scientifically, I understand the bio-chemical connection but based on direct experience the bottom ...

Re: Denis, please post here

I agree.

I'll ask " if there is no me, where did that thought come from?" Then observe what comes up next. How the brain responds. Got it.

thanks, dennis

Re: Denis, please post here

Hi Chris,

your comments make sense. Based on your suggestion from the day before, I have been watching where thoughts are coming from more often and closely. I hadn't been very vigilant about that until you mentioned it. I think it is working. At least I have a healthier outlook. I have had two ...

Re: Denis, please post here

Hi Chris,

Good idea. I'll watch thoughts. I think I have been but I'll be more conscious of it: who's thought, where did it come from, can I control it, what's the next thought. I'll watch.

I'll stick with it. Sorry I didnt write yesterday; I wanted to digest it another day.

The "image that ...

Re: Denis, please post here

Hi Chris,

1) Is there a me, was there ever?

No. I can understand 'me' is just a concept. Intellectually, it makes perfect sense. The concept is a construct of thoughts we've put together to create an image. Was there ever? Of course not or there still would be.

2) The illusion of separate self ...

Re: Denis, please post here

I typed a reply answering the 5 questions, went back to see past posts and lost the whole thing. Reinforces the 'not in control' concept :-)

Am tired so I'll rewrite it tomorrow with a fresh outlook.

Thanks for waiting,
denis
