Re: Seeking the end of seeking

1) Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form? Was there ever?
No. There is no separate self or me or I. There never was or will be.

2) Explain in detail what the illusion of separate self is, when it starts and how it works from your own experience ...

Re: Seeking the end of seeking

Sorry it's taken me a little longer to respond. Life became pretty hectic this week. I will post answers to the questions this weekend.

With heartfelt appreciation

Re: Seeking the end of seeking

Ok. I know that I usually post daily or every other day but if you don't mind I really want to sit with this and look deep before I post my answers. It may take a couple of days because I really want to see everything as clear as possible before responding.

Re: Seeking the end of seeking

Okay, if you're saying you've seen no self, would you like to attempt our traditional "final" questions?

I had to sit with this question a bit. I spent so long searching for truth. Seeking, hoping, praying....and it was always here. This "being", this "no self" though always present, aware and ...

Re: Seeking the end of seeking

Can you find any separate "self" anywhere? Has there ever been?
No. I can't find any separate "self". Only a "knowing".

If not, how does it FEEL to SEE this?
It doesn't feel any way. There are sensations that are felt. Smells that are smelled. Tastes that are tasted. Sounds heard. Sights seen ...

Re: Seeking the end of seeking

Simply the sensation of pressure. Pressure in the general area the contact appears to occur.
But even that doesn't seem 100% true. There is pressure but where the sensation of pressure truly is...there's difficulty it placing it. I'm definitely aware of the sensation though.

Re: Seeking the end of seeking

Is there any clear dividing line between them? Or only the Sensation with no clear division?
There is only the sensation. The dividing line is/has always been assumed...🤯. The mind tries to define a border which we take to be factual when in truth it's imaginary.

Re: Seeking the end of seeking

Can you find any separate "self" anywhere?
No. I can't find any "self" anywhere. It's just that there is the constant struggle with the thought that there "should" be something there. I'm beginning to recognize it more that it's only a thought. It's a long standing belief. Beliefs are thoughts ...

Re: Seeking the end of seeking

A few years back I tried to read Douglas Hardings Headless Way book. It didn't resonate with me. After watching Richard Lang's video I've spent the last two days doing the exercises and there's a different grasp of what's being taught now. It's definitely not the same as when I was first introduced ...

Re: Seeking the end of seeking

How does it FEEL to sit back & watch these happenings go on without you?
It feels free. In the moment you observe these happenings there is a recognition that you aren't tethered to the happening. I keep going back to the hand flipping exercise and I am amazed every time.

Re: Seeking the end of seeking

In step 3 where you made a choice, did you actually witness or directly experience a mental function or faculty doing the ‘choosing’? Did anything arise that announced, ‘I am the chooser’? If so, what does this function look like?
Oops. I skipped a question.
I didn't experience a mental function ...

Re: Seeking the end of seeking

In step 1 when thinking about their respective qualities, did you ‘choose’ the qualities? Or did they kind of appear by themselves? If some preferences manifested, did you ‘choose’ these preferences? Or did they just pop up by themselves?
No. I didn't choose the qualities. They simply appeared and ...
