Re: Learning about being guided and guide others
Thank ylou Steve.
How are thoughts benefitted? Do they have volition? How does all this work?
I guess I used that "benefitted". No Thoughts do not have volition. Thought just come up. As body sensations just come up. Thoughts are generated from the mind. There is no organisation to it just the ...

Re: Learning about being guided and guide others
Hi Steve,
There is no self or me or I anywhere, anyway shape or form. There is a though of a self created by thoughts only.
2. The illusion of separate self is generated by thoughts and only lives in the thought process when it benefits those thoughts. The thoughts have created this illusion of ...

Re: Learning about being guided and guide others
Hi Steve,
How does it feel to see this? Write lots!
Steve, I have always known it but have never been able to "stay" in that knowledge. Somehow i was letting my thoughts take over and convince me otherwise.
I have been suffering from a fairly bad back pain for the last 2 days among other things ...

Re: Learning about being guided and guide others
Dear Steve,
What's true for you now?
What is true for me now is that there is no you there is a body and body sensations and there is thoughts. Thoughts is trying to make us believe there is an "I" when there is none, there never was one....
Is there a you that is the observer of experience?

Re: Learning about being guided and guide others
Hi Steve,
Sorry was on the road yesterday.
Can you find a "you" that's doing it, or is it just happening?
I have tried this exercise the whole week end: no I can't find an "I" that is doing it. It is definitely just happening. It is between a thought generated movement or a movement that just ...

Re: Learning about being guided and guide others
Hi Steve,
I did it a few times.
I felt all the body sensations: approaching the object with no thoughts, grabbing the object in the same time noticing the weight, the form, the temperature, noticing everything about the movement and the object... the contact with my hand. I did not however felt once ...

Re: Learning about being guided and guide others
Hi Steve,
I drove for 6 hrs today so had plenty of time to practice.
What I notice first very hard to stop the thinking about it. It was almost like my mind wanted to convinced me that there is always thoughts.
However I was able to do it without thinking. What I saw was there was no thought but a ...

Re: Learning about being guided and guide others
Hi Steve,
Now look very closely and find the exact decision point. How is the decision made?
I did this a few times. To me when doing this exercise, the decision is made by thought at the last minute or the object caught the vision in some way and then object being grabbed. I tried many times but ...

Re: Learning about being guided and guide others
Hi Steve,
We did talk about how thoughts influence actions but actions can occur when there are no thoughts. We didn't look at the causes of actions.
I am still processing the realisation from yesterday.... However now to me the cause of actions are thoughts and body sensations. For example, I ...

Re: Learning about being guided and guide others
Hi Steve,
What role does the self play in pleasure and pain?
The self plays no role whatsoever. The pain and pleasure are emotions and thoughts only.
Can you find an "I" who is the experiencer of them?
Nope and i looked hard. ;-)
Are they "about you" in some way?
I can't see or fathom they are ...

Re: Learning about being guided and guide others
Hi Steve,
This "I" - the one who might do or have done the wrong thing - the one that bad things might happen to - is not real at that moment. It is not found in experience anywhere while the feeling of anxiety is there. Am I right about that?/quote]I believe so. So what you are saying is the ...
