LU is focused guiding for seeing there is no real, inherent 'self' - what do you understand by this?
The real self is consciousness. I FEEL this is as clear presence, as freedom/quiet, as thick air budding with 'something'. I feel it as awareness, possibility, clarity, a lack of 'labels'. It is not intellectual so writing this out is challenging. It's a tangible, palpable 'connection' and everything is everything - that's how it feels for me.
What are you looking for at LU?
Gentle non-intrusive support in grounding and helping ME to interpret or integrate my experiences. I'm doing quite a lot for myself and I have a little support by way of Craniosacral therapy but that's not the place for this "new being" or new "awareness" and then integrating that safely and meaningfully in to my day to day life. I don't expect advice or therapy but very open to gentle reminders and steering and of course to know that others are also experiencing or have gone through similar processes.
What do you expect from a guided conversation?
Gentle steering and guidance, facilitation at best to provide me with direction and information that I don't have. It would also be great to check in with someone regularly to receive this. Having this kind of support in itself is enough as this is quite isolating.
I expect boundaries to be kindly held and respected, I don't need therapy - just some guidance from someone that's further along than me.
What is your experience in terms of spiritual practices, seeking and inquiry?
So much over the last 15 years however the most meaningful
- Meditation, mindfulness (various practices and schools)
- Whirling Dervish practice - formally trained (movement meditation)
- I have studied Joel Goldsmith's teachings for almost 10 years (Christian Mysticism)
- Several years of talking and somatic therapies
- Craniosacral Therapy (profound and the most impactful, it is what has led me here)
- 12 step programs (food, money)
- I have investigated most major religions and/or studied and found all wanting unfortunately
On a scale from 1 to 10, how willing are you to question any currently held beliefs about 'self? 11

This is a beautiful description.I FEEL this is as clear presence, as freedom/quiet, as thick air budding with 'something'.
I would be happy to be here for you in this capacity. Many people experience this - I remember feeling that isolation myself.Gentle steering and guidance, facilitation at best to provide me with direction and information that I don't have. Hello Sisu,
Here are some questions for you. Remember to consider your lived experience as it is when answering questions rather than going into theory or speculation.
1) Do you think that an inherently independent self exists?
2) Do you feel that an inherently independent self exists?
3) Is there an actual past or future?
4) How do you relate to your thoughts?
5) How do you relate to your emotions?
6) Has your relationship to other people changed since you started to feel what you describe here:
8) What is your relationship to life?
9) Are there doubts? if so please describe them.
10) If you are not the separate self, who/what are you?
Take your time - there is no rush in this.
Warmly, Kari

Thanks for checking in Kari. I haven't made it through but fine. It'll take me time to reflect on each. Pls let me know if there's a timeframe that I should complete in, I may have missed that.
