Searching for a glimpse of reality

LU is focused guiding for seeing there is no real, inherent 'self' - what do you understand by this? It seems like a practical way to realise the Buddha's teaching of anatman. Truly seeing that what I think of as 'me' is actually just a process rather than a fixed, unchanging core. A way to know this beyond the rational, intellectual understanding of the teaching.

What are you looking for at LU? Direct experience of what I already feel to be true. And someone to dimistify the teaching and practically guide me to my own understanding rather than just tell me 'this is how it is'. Or that I need to practice for 20 years etc. before 'gaining' insight into anatman.

What do you expect from a guided conversation? I really don't have any expectations. Hopefully to talk with someone who has seen the truth themselves and is compassionate enough to want to dedicate some of their time to leading me to the truth too.

What is your experience in terms of spiritual practices, seeking and inquiry? I've been a practising Buddhist for around four years. I've been on many meditation and study retreats (including a four month one), and have a daily meditation practice.

On a scale from 1 to 10, how willing are you to question any currently held beliefs about 'self? 11

Read the following sentence out loud several times:

There is no separate self, no controller and doer of things, never was, never will be

Every time you read it out loud notice what happens, what reactions come up, thoughts, feelings, sensations... And write it to me.

Make sure not to write me what you think about it, but just what actually happens. In general the core of the process is always what you directly SEE, and the direct responses to prompts and exercises. This is always the core, seeing and reporting as directly as possible. Analyzing and explaining never is.
