Back for guidance
Re: Back for guidance
Continued to look and notice what is actually seen vs the mental images
Re: Back for guidance
Still working on step 5
Re: Back for guidance
Continuing on step 5, not much progress but keeping at it
Re: Back for guidance
Still working, will shift focus to noticing what is seen before thoughts without looking in the mirror and see if that helps.

Re: Back for guidance
Hi Jerry,
Perhaps try looking in the mirror from almost no distance. If you're close enough, you'll see just a blur of colors. Is there any information intrinsically in the blur that tells you it's an image of a part of a body? If you had never seen a photograph or a mirror before, would you know immediately what you were looking at? If not, what is the process, in microscopic detail, by which you would eventually identify what you were seeing?

SEE that it is impossible for a thought to refer to anything other than a thought.
Re: Back for guidance
Sure thing I'll give that a try today after work
Re: Back for guidance
This was helpful, noticing lots of mental images trying to work out what could be seen when very close. Will continue with thisPerhaps try looking in the mirror from almost no distance. Re: Back for guidance
Continuing to look very closely at the mirror and still trying to notice what is seen vs mental images
Re: Back for guidance
Still working, didn't get much time yesterday.
Re: Back for guidance
Continuing to look over the last day
Re: Back for guidance
Hey Jeff I'm going to stop looking, have been losing the motivation / desire over the last month and reducing the time spent looking. I've been barely spending much time looking over the last week.
I'm really grateful for the time and work you gave to help me over the past few months, the progress made wouldn't be anywhere near the same without your guidance. I've got a month long retreat in a Thailand monastery at the end of the year so that might help reignite my search but otherwise will just continue to look as much as I can.
