Hi Metta,

Thanks for the post.

In getting ready for the camping trip I am about ready to leave for, my wife and I had some joint tasks to perform. We have a folding kayak, called a Klepper and a kayak rack to put on top of the car. It is a joke between us that her and I yell at each other at least once during the half an hour process of putting together the boat since we don't do it lots and it can be frustrating. It is not taken as an awful thing. So last night, our 25 year old daughter flew in from Japan, after spending a year there. We all went out to dinner along with her boyfriend. My wife brought up that we put together the Klepper, put on the car rack without snapping at each other once. I think that for my part, it had to do with the exercise you had me go through, at least I think so.

An insight that I just got yesterday was that if one is talking to another, it does not matter that much if what a person says is that interesting because just the interaction, the interface happening is kind of fascinating: watching how a person expresses themselves, their eyes, all that is happening.

Love,
-Kent

Is there a self? How much of what you observe around you is a reflection? Let this sit for a few days and observe interactions. When observing any reflections , when you cut out the story of Kent what happens? Love, metta

I just got back from the camping trip and there was no internet access or cell phone coverage which was kind of refreshing. So I will sit with this for a few days, starting now (unless I hear otherwise).

Hi Metta,

I only have a partial reply here but I fear that my couple of days are running out. So here it is:
Is there a self? How much of what you observe around you is a reflection? Let this sit for a few days and observe interactions. When observing any reflections, when you cut out the story of Kent what happens?
The realization came that in fact the self is a foreign made up, imaginary entity, continually needing propping up for its existence. It is foreign not a natural way.

It is difficult to discern what is reflected (is it all?) or what is not. But there are degrees of this it seems. When the Kent personality is really firing on all cylinders, it is blocking out a lot and the feel is heavy or unnatural. When the Kent is taken away, sometimes such in a conversation, the point the Kent personality was trying to make collapses. There is a kind of surrender there and that surrender sometimes feels like it has no limits. And there are degrees of Kentness or the ego.

So the element of this that has been avoided or not delved into deeply is that maybe it is all a r e f l e c t i o n.
That would take a few more daze.

Love,
-Kent

Hi Kent,

Yes, perhaps it is all a reflection of self . :-) Interesting you used the word daze, instead of days. A deep surrender to what is. Are you sure you want to continue, it may turn the world upside down. Love, Metta
