Re: Simply Seeing
Yes. It is the *content* of a thought.
So, it's made up & not Direct Experience.
Can you see that?

Re: Simply Seeing
Okay, we are going tobdon this for ac while.
This is the only pointer Ilona gave me when I was guided here. i practiced this for about 3 months. I call it:
ButtChair
Please LOOK for any place where your butt ends & the chair begins.
Is there any clear dividing line between them? Or only the Sensation with no clear division?
It is simple direct & nonverbal. Just LOOK.
Then write what is true.

I can't find any beginning or end in my DE on the chair.

There is only the sensation of pressure on my flesh. No clear division.

Hi Stacy, I haven't heard from you in a few days – just checking in. I've been continuing with the ButtChair exercise and sitting with what's here. Hope you're well. Warmly, Deni

Hi Deni
Not sure how I missed that. Maybe I didn't get the notification.
Yes, continue with ButtChsir. It took 3 months but it worked for me. Seeing no separation helps you to see there's no "self." You've got it.
Post here about it even if it's the same.

Re: Simply Seeing
Hi Stacy, how often do you recommend to do the buttchair exercise? Like three times for 10 minutes per day for example? Recently, I saw a glimpse of how my mind works and how it discerns from the direct experience when I stick with the senses.

Great.
When it feels right. Meaning a relaxed gut feeling, not tense. Daily mostly.

Re: Simply Seeing
Hi Stacy,
I’d like to check in with you briefly. It feels like there has been a little shift, and I wanted to share it with you.
I’m realizing that there is actually no inside and outside. It is me who creates the separation between “inside” and “outside” and somehow, creating that separation makes me feel sick.
I also notice how strongly attached I am to making this separation, almost as if I’m addicted to it. I think I’ve been using this separation as a place to hide. I always somehow believed that I could hide somewhere “inside,” separate from everything outside.
But when I look directly, I can’t find an actual boundary. There is just experiencing. And there is no separate place where “I” can hide.
It feels very clear to me that the separation is something I’m creating, rather than something that is actually there.
I’d love to hear your pointer on this.
Warmly

Re: Simply Seeing
Excellent. Except there's no "me" to do any separating..
It's all just thoughts & Sensation. Can you see that?

Yeah finally I see that sometimes. Not all the time, but I see that. Seeing is happening. Breathing is happening. Everything is just happening and the mind wants to get hold of everything. LOL

Re: Simply Seeing
Good Let me know when you're 100% sure there's no separate self to.be found.
Try this one. Report how it FEELS to SEE.
Doership Exercise
You see that there is no self to be found. Now let’s have a look at the feeling of being a 'doer’.
Take a few relaxed breaths to let the dust settle for a while, and then: Look on your right.
Then look on your left.
Finally, bring your head back to centre, close your eyes and look in front.
Okay, so when you look on the right, the view on the right is seen (whatever that is).
When you look on the left, the view on the left is seen (whatever that is).
And then, when you look in front of you with eyes closed, the view in front is seen (ie ‘black space’).
So, when the view on the right is seen, do you have the ‘choice’ not to see? I’m not asking can you ‘choose’ to see something else like another view or ‘black space’ if you close your eyes. The question is; can you turn seeing off?
Can you NOT see what is seen?
Same thing with the view on the left, can you NOT see the view on the left?
Same thing with the view in front with closed eyes, can you NOT see the ‘black space’?
Can you turn off seeing?
What did the 'chooser' choose?
Did a 'self' choose something?
If you are unable to choose what you're aware of, then what else is there to choose?
