LU is focused guiding for seeing there is no real, inherent 'self' - what do you understand by this?
That we are a composite of aggregates. That we imposed an I just to relate ourselves back to this composite. That although everything is dependent arisen, there are still things that relate to one another so to speak. That sufferings arise out of attachment to this morphing shifting composite. And this fixation or attachment obstructs the truth.

What are you looking for at LU?
Guidance and companionship along this path to liberation from the fixation. Hands on guidance with responses to experiences and insights. Encouragement and focus when life overwhelms or distracts. Getting references from those who have gone further.

What do you expect from a guided conversation?
Would appreciate Ideas and suggestions for practice. Direct Sharing of experiences. Need Details and step by step approach. Preferably having Regular checking in to pace progress. Would appreciate Sharing of different perspectives.

What is your experience in terms of spiritual practices, seeking and inquiry?
Mainly reading. Born into Buddhist family. Attended Chinese Mahayana teachings when young. Did Theravada Vipassana and Korean Zen meditation practices. Practised some Tibetan tantric sadhanas after receiving transmissions. More recently also having a dzogchen guru who brought me to this site.

On a scale from 1 to 10, how willing are you to question any currently held beliefs about 'self?

Some housekeeping guidelines:

3. This exploration is based on actual experience (AE) - smell, taste, sound, sensation, color and observed thoughts. Long-winded analytical and philosophical answers are best avoided and may even hinder progress. This is not a self-improvement process. There is no ‘self’ to improve.

4. Put aside all other teachings, philosophies, rituals, practices, books/reading and so on for the remainder of this investigation. Really put all your effort and attention in to seeing this reality, as it is. If you have a daily meditation practice, it is fine to continue that but is not necessary for this exploration.

Always save a copy of what you have done, it will save time in the long run!
