LU is focused guiding for seeing there is no real, inherent 'self' - what do you understand by this? Seems like I have been looking forever for my true self. But every time I think I'm getting closer, nothing is there. They say I'm Barry but when I look no one is there. They say I'm a man but that's just another label. All I "see" are the five senses and thoughts arising but in the end, it's all like a fog. And then another thought arises.
What are you looking for at LU? I guess I'm looking for a human Kyosaku to wake me from my slumber and lethargy and see the truth. I have experienced a number of mini satoris, yet the ego seems to come back again and again. In the end, the ego seems stronger than ever. Yet the fear keeps coming back.
What do you expect from a guided conversation? Compassion and showing me my ignorance. To be rigorous in calling me on my bull shit and to hold me accountable for sticking to my promises. To guide me back onto the pathless path when I want to feel sorry for myself.
What is your experience in terms of spiritual practices, seeking and inquiry? Over 20 years of meditating and attending retreats. Read too many books that in the end didn't were not the ultimate answer. If there is one
