LU is focused guiding for seeing there is no real, inherent 'self' - what do you understand by this?
The me that we perceive is a construct of thought, feelings and sensations. it is created by conditioning and social interactions. In actuality things are unfolding by themselves and we are just observing them. The witness is also a construct by the mind. Is is not sufficient to have an intelectuel understanding of this to see though the illusion.
What are you looking for at LU?
I am looking for guidance in order to help me see what is actually happening. To unveil what I may be stuck on. The mind is tricky and it is not easy to see its own limitations. An external person who is clear on this may pinpoint what would be the issue and feel what is necessary, encourage or push so that the reality become more apparent and concrete.
What do you expect from a guided conversation?
I am willing to engage regularly and sincerely with a guide that will be able to see where I am on and what needs to be adressed at each specific moment, and also the manner in which it would be more effective to tackle, on one side to avoid me being trapped in unnecessary interrogations and on the other side to indicate what need to be insisted upon or let go.
What is your experience in terms of spiritual practices, seeking and inquiry?
I have started with mindfullness 10 years ago.
I had a heart opening glimse in a Reiki session that urged me to search.
I have landed on non-dual teachings.
Read books from Nisargadatta, Adyashanti, Simply always awake, Eckart Tolle.
Watched uncountable videos.
I participated in several one week-long meditation retreats in person and online, about one a year.
I had a small fear when realising what the ilusion of self implies in my daily life and now I am ok with it.
Practicesd self inquiry, months of shadow work, following the breath, choicesless awareness, dyads, resting as awareness.
I regularly fail retreats in about the 3rd day with unbearable pression, try to let go, finally manage it and lose momentum.
I now meditate several hours per week.
The process is working but it's long, I am trying to accelerate it or to find a better way to approch it.
On a scale from 1 to 10, how willing are you to question any currently held beliefs about 'self? 10

Hey Dan, I'm Tyler.
What are you actually trying to achieve? Can you put it shortly: What are you trying to get out of this?
If you've read books, watched countless videos, and meditate several hours per week... there must be some strong motivation, yes? So, what is it?
When I ask you questions from now on, please do your best to look in experience and verify your answer against what you are currently observing, instead of relying on knowledge you've learnt in the past.
You said two statements, "The me that we perceive is a construct of thought, feelings and sensations" and "things are unfolding by themselves and we are just observing them".
Can you tell me from YOUR OWN experience NOW, where and what is "the me that we perceive"? What is it like for you? Can you describe it? If we split experience into 6 categories (thought, sensation, sight, sound, smell, taste), which categories does "the me" fall into? In your own experience, right now?
Next, notice the sensation of your right foot. You can feel it clearly there. Are you actively generating that sensation? Or is it just there, independently?
Then back to "the me" or "I": Are you actively generating it? Or is it there independently? If it's clearly there in experience, who is the one observing and noticing it? If it is observable, clearly it's as "external" as the sensation of your right foot, no? Who is the one observing the sensation of your right foot, and who is the one observing the "me" or "I"? Is there anyone observing?

Re: freedom
Hi Tyler, thanks for taking my thread !
Initialy it felt like a point of view behind the head, and by looking at it it feels more like the space in the head, around the body and in the visual field.
When I am observing, there are not many thoughts; when a thought apears for a period of time, it feels like I was absent, the body became tensed, and I was lost in a temporary day dream with a character in it, then got back to observing.
At first, sensations are being observed from a point behind the the head, then after a while, they seem to appear in the space around the body.
The sight happens around and the me is silent in the head, chest and disolves around the body, like being in a scuba costume undewater with a panoramic view.
There are the sounds of the fan and the ringing in the ear, the body relaxes, the me feels in the chest and around the head.
When smelling the me feels in the body.
When tasting, the movements of the mouth and face seem to be happening by themselves. The me is more in the space around the chest.
There is no objective me found, if I don't move much it feels like the me can feel and inhabit the space around the body.
The me seems in the head if I focus on an object, or in the center the bodily sensations if I observe them. If I look for it there, there a slight felt sense of me and yes, it must be external like being perceived through another sense.
When I look, feels peaceful, there is no person observing, the sensation apears in space and the me seem diffused all around in the space of sensations and the visual field.
I am trying to end the seeking, find the truth, let things flow by themselves, it is happening better this way. What are you actually trying to achieve? Can you put it shortly: What are you trying to get out of this?
The motivation is that I had experiences love and acceptance. Now I am able to let go, observe the spaciousness in the mind, and see resistance in the body softening. It is wonderful but progressive over the years. I suspect there is a more direct way but not sure where to orient to.If you've read books, watched countless videos, and meditate several hours per week... there must be some strong motivation, yes? Absolutely agreed !verify your answer against what you are currently observing, instead of relying on knowledge you've learnt in the past.
