Great. Remember this?

Lies are usually felt in the heart or solar plexus as a contraction that we may label as tight, heavy or tense.

In contrast, truth is usually expansive. We may call it loose, light or relaxed.

So that means "I'll never see it is.... ???"

If you listened to the recording zooming in on death in my Dropbox, you know that we see it on death. So, if nothing else you'll see it when you die.

What we're trying to do here is what they say about dying before we die.

How do I find your dropbox?

Yes, a lie.

I thought I had sent the DropBox link. Be sure to listen to the Introduction.

Hi Stacy, I tried the first of these meditations and it was very interesting. Is there any in particular you want me to do or shall I just go through all of them?

That's up to you. "Where is I?" is closest to what we do, but they're all great.

Hi Stacy, I tried ‘where is I’ yesterday but I didn’t really get it so I’ll try it again tomorrow when I have time and get back to you.

Also, I went to another one of Vince’s group sessions last night but it was a bit odd. I got really scared when he started talking to me and couldn’t concentrate on what he was saying. I think it was because everyone else was opening up a lot and I have issues doing that. One he thing he said that got through though- I told him that I’ve had glimpses before but they went away again and he told me that that’s because old ways of seeing things come back and make things foggy again. I think the fear might be what’s been holding me back. I’ll go to another next Sunday and see what he says.

There is a Direct Looking process for fear.

Hi Stacy, I did the fear meditation again thank you. How often should I do ButtChair and similar exercises? How many times a day and how long for?

Use your intuition & your gut yes/no feeling to guide you.

Hi Stacy

Sorry for not posting for a few days. There hasn’t been much to report. I went to another one of Vince’s meetings last night. I asked him what the purpose of ButtChair was and he told me it was to distinguish between was is actual and is just story. I see that when I feel my tongue touching the top of my mouth that that is really just a story. There is only a (singular) sensation; ‘tongue touching mouth’ is just a story my mind adds to the fact. I’ll bear this all in mind and keep coming back to you.

Yes, exactly.

Stay relaxed.

How is the fear?

Stay relaxed
What do you mean? Relaxed about what?
How is the fear?
I did the meditation again and haven’t really felt it since. Do you think I should keep doing it?

Relaxed about seeing no self, relaxed about everything.

If you aren't feeling fear you don't need it.

Are you doing ButtChair? Where is I?

Also, here is something Vince wrote that might help:

The main impediment, as it shows up here, is the felt need to make something happen.

More specifically:
the seeker-pattern that keeps trying to reproduce, control, or get back to peace.

It shows up as:
wanting to know how the quiet happened
wanting to be able to do it again at will
turning calm into a result to be achieved
turning “letting go,” “surrender,” and “do nothing” into things a someone must do
looking for the right method, video, understanding, or inner move that will finally make awakening land

So if I isolate it as cleanly as possible:

Main impediment is the belief that awakening is something a “me” can produce, control, or attain in the future.

Underneath that, there’s a second layer feeding it:

The emotional flavour is the habitual orientation toward fixing discomfort and improving experience — the half-glass-empty reflex that interprets life as something that should be made different.

That is why even good pointers get turned into suffering:

“do nothing” becomes “how do I do do-nothing?”
“let go” becomes “I need to let go better”
“surrender” becomes “I must perform surrender”
a glimpse of peace becomes “how do I make that happen again?”

So the core obstacle is not lack of insight. It is not lack of practice. It is not lack of sincerity.

It is the selfing movement that immediately claims experience and tries to use it to get somewhere else.

Wanting peace is disturbing peace.
Wanting awakening is reinforcing the seeker.

The main impediment to “waking up” is the attempt to wake up.

What seems to most obstruct waking up is the deeply conditioned assumption that “I” can make it happen. You keep trying to reproduce peace, control insight, or perform surrender, and in doing so quietly reinforces the very self it longs to be free of. So the impediment is not lack of understanding, but the reflex to use every glimpse, practice, or pointer as a way to get somewhere else. In that sense, the obstacle is the effort itself — the movement of becoming, fixing, and attaining.

What if the one trying to wake up is the one being seen through?
What if the effort to arrive is what creates the sense of distance?
What if nothing is missing except the idea that something is missing?

much love

vince
