Last threads of self

Postby sweetbasil28 » Mon Jan 27, 2025 7:53 am

LU is focused guiding for seeing there is no real, inherent 'self' - what do you understand by this?
Understanding that this self who is selfing is not actually managed by any one thing or entity. That the self is an illusion and the mind/thoughts are all happening without having to “do.” Without the self, it just is. Experience. Beingness. Amness. An underlying flow of a river when there is no river to refer to.

What are you looking for at LU?
I am looking to get past the gate or the last threads of attachments to self. To allow the dissolution of the illusion and enter into complete and utter beingness or flow. A release. I’ve always had a sense that something is missing or a search for meaning and after reading and personally experiencing moments of one-ness, nothing else matters. To be in a complete state of one mess and not separate. I’m looking for last bit of something that hasn’t been seen yet but I don’t know what that something is. It’s like it’s so palpable and so close to experiencing or perceiving the only way that there is to be but some part of my mind is holding on for dear life even though my heart “knows” that this is the direction and the only thing that matters. Even typing that feels silly because it’s non conceptual and then I feel like I’m in a round about.

What do you expect from a guided conversation?
Direct pointers to guide me through the gate. Someone who has been a parent, mother, daughter, sister, etc and has been through it and knows what pointers would be most helpful for “me” to see beyond the illusion. Knowing or experiencing where to look and in turn guiding me through to illuminate what hasn’t been illuminated yet. A guide to point where to look right now in this moment of patterning

What is your experience in terms of spiritual practices, seeking and inquiry?
Inquiry work for the last 2 years off and on due to family circumstances. Lots of reading and watching from different perspectives of how to approach the no self Also completed a 1 year program that helped in the deconstruction of beliefs and assumptions about self. It wasn’t geared towards that in so many words but in hindsight it helped tremendously. A couple kundalini type experiences where perception shifted for a time and then “went away”

On a scale from 1 to 10, how willing are you to question any currently held beliefs about 'self? 10

Hello!

I resonated with what you wrote and as “a parent, mother, daughter, sister, etc” and would be happy to be present in this inquiry with you. :)

Before we start I want to check in with you about two things:

1)

Please read both the following documents from LU carefully and let me know if you have any questions, doubts or reservations in regards to them:

http://liberationunleashed.com/disclaimer-2

And:

http://liberationunleashed.com/about/faq/#faq-1041

2)

I prefer working with people who are highly motivated for this process and want to do exercises/look at questions and stay in communication more or less every day until concluded. This is not about making it rigidly so, exceptions (travel, life lifing, etc) are welcome as we go along. At the same time the momentum of the inquiry is important. So I’d love to know if this pattern of engagement feels right and is possible for you?

Looking forward,
Becca
