LU is focused guiding for seeing there is no real, inherent 'self' - what do you understand by this?
I understand that there is no real, inherent self. That throughout our lives, we become conditioned through the thinking mind, the I virus, and more in which we then create a reality that isnt based in truth of experience. If we start by looking past all this, we can can live in one true flow that is free of "thought" or "I" & move past the gate.
What are you looking for at LU?
I am looking for some help getting past the thinking mind, to get past I. To take that final step past the Gate.
I have been so conditioned my entire life, through an abusive relationship with my parents, a high stress job that I am constantly distracted by, and an experience so rooted in fear, that I feel like I have lost sight of who I truly am. In reading LU for the first time, I related so directly to the symptoms of the I virus, to the thinking mind, that I had to reread it again to even start to comprehend LU at all.
At LU, I am hoping to be able to truly feel like there is no inherent self. My brain feels so discombobulated, that it continues to go back to thought, no matter how hard I try to look past it. This happens every single day at work, talking to family and friends, even when trying to look past I.
What do you expect from a guided conversation?
I am hoping that through the guided conversation, I can directly express my questions, my feeling, and my experiences to someone that has passed the Gate, so that they can assist me in getting there myself. I really resonated with the dialogue passages in reading LU, and I feel like if I were to be able to have the same experience, then I would actually be able to look past the thinking mind and truly realize the is no separate self in this life.
What is your experience in terms of spiritual practices, seeking and inquiry?
In the past 2-3 years, I have gone on my own journey through somatic therapy and repression work to try to resolve some of the issues that I had and become a better version of myself. I now understand that power that my body has. The impact that repressed anger has had on my life. That journey has led to to this point, where I see that this is my next step.
On a scale from 1 to 10, how willing are you to question any currently held beliefs about 'self? 10

Re: Overcoming the Thinking Mind and Personal History
Good morning,
My name is Stacy and I can be your guide, if you would like.
First, this is not therapy & won't resolve the issues you describe. For that, I highly recommend The Work of Byron Katie, www.the work.com or CBT. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, especially if you're insurance covers it. Question your thoughts. Clue: ALL thoughts are made up.
That will clear the way much more so this can be done easily.
But if you still want to be guided here, I can help.
One thing that is helpful is to come to this forum
& post every day. Sometimes the site goes down. It will be back. Just come back later.
Yes, if once in a while you must post later, please post a note telling me when you will return.
If you haven't already read the disclaimer, please read it now and just confirm to me that you have read it. Here is the link.

Also please read “Liberation Unleashed is not …” in the FAQ’s of LU. Here is the link.

Some housekeeping guidelines:
1. Post at least once a day, or every second day. If you need more time, or are unable to post for several days, just write a quick post on your thread to let me know please.
2. There is no one judging answers given, so please be 100% honest in your answers and inquiry.
3. This exploration is based on actual experience (AE) - smell, taste, sound, sensation, color and observed thoughts. Long-winded analytical and philosophical answers are best avoided and may even hinder progress. This is not a self-improvement process. There is no ‘self’ to improve.
4. Put aside all other teachings, philosophies, rituals, practices, books/reading and so on for the remainder of this investigation. Really put all your effort and attention in to seeing this reality, as it is. If you have a daily meditation practice, it is fine to continue that but is not necessary for this exploration.
Technology is not perfect and sometimes there is a glitch which can wipe out your responses. It is advisable that you copy and paste questions asked into Word, answer them there and then copy and paste them to your thread. Always save a copy of what you have done, it will save time in the long run!
To begin with, so that we both become aware of what your expectations are about this exploration. In your own words (not from actual experience, but just honest answers), could you please answer the 4 following questions:
How will life change?
How will you change?
What will be different?
What is missing?
Throughout this exploration I would like you to answer all questions that I have written in blue text. Please answer all questions even if I miss using the blue text.
Please answer questions individually, remembering to use the quote function to highlight the question being answered.
Below is a link to the video with instructions on using the Quote Function. Please watch it. Use the PREVIEW button to make sure your text looks right before you hit "SUBMIT."
