Afternoon Scott,
How real does this all feel?

Clueless
Re: Clueless
Hi James!
For now that is what came up.
Scott
I'm going to go with feeling then. The most prominent feeling is that i can relax now. No need to push, seek, figure it out. That relaxation is present most of the time. Sometimes i feel a pull to act and react in the old way but usually only when talking to a person. It feels like there is some doubt but i see that is thought. There is a sense of truth. How real does this all feel?

Hi James
There is something very different while all remains the same.
Gratitude flows,
Scott
i think so. Since there were no fireworks and an old expectation of that, thoughts occasionally arise with the content "are you sure" lol The basic feeling of contentment and absence of the feeling "i need to push, it's not enough" seems to remain as a constant though. i feel as if i am watching thought and feelings and perceptions play through while dropping gifts in my heart as they pass. i am not sure this makes sense or even if it answers your question.Do you feel you've seen through self?

Re: Clueless
Hi Scott,
Well let's see -
There are a set of questions which you answer.
I then circulate them amongst the guides to see if everyone agrees you've seen through self.
Once that's done (there may be extra questions) you're given access to additional parts of LU and there's a Facebook group of everyone who's gated.
Would you like the questions?

Re: Clueless
Ok here are the questions.
(come from experience more than intellectualising, if possible)
1) Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form?
Was there ever?
2) Describe how the illusion of an independent, self came into being by giving examples from actual experience.
Then give some experiential examples of how life changed for you after seeing through this illusion.
3) How does it feel to see this?
What is the difference from before you started this dialogue? Please report from the past few days.
4) Can you remember any specific inquiry that resulted in an epiphany? ..a before and after seeing the actuality of the Self. Was there a point when you ‘got it’?
5) a) Describe decision, intention, free will, choice and control. What makes things happen? How does it work?
Give examples from your own recent experiences to how these things happen and how they work.
b) What are you responsible for? Give examples from your own recent experiences to how this works.
6) Anything to add?

Re: Clueless
Ok here are the questions.
(come from experience more than intellectualizing, if possible)
The hand flipping exercise was eye opening. It was obvious that things were happening and not being controlled by ME.
All are complete illusions.
What makes things happen? No Thing makes things happen. Things just arise like thoughts and sensing.
Intention: No control no intention. If there could be an intention it would be meaningless. I am letting the body do what it does. Thoughts arise. The body may or may not take action.
Free will: No control, will is meaningless. Again, just watching the body do what it does. Things get done, things happen.
Choice: No control, no choice, no decision, no intention and no will.
Thank You,
Scott

No. Not here, not now, not then or ever. Just thought and sensing that seem to have caused conditioning. Thoughts reflecting off each other creating an illusion of an entity.1) Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form?
Was there ever?
Thoughts are constantly reflecting each other, arising with seemingly different content but actually just different combinations of other thoughts and sense perception input. This reflection is dynamic, fluid and can appear life-like. When i am/was lost in thought, momentarily there is a feeling that I am thinking and those thoughts are me. What i used to think of as me turns out to be only a framework of thought reflecting and bouncing off each other. At some point i became aware that when identified with a thought (believing it), the only thing that was (believing) was just another thought.2) Describe how the illusion of an independent, self came into being by giving examples from actual experience.
My thoughts don't have any juice any more. When discomfort arises i usually immediately wake up and realize i am believing a thought about another thought. Now when thoughts arise i move towards them like a friend. As the distance closes the content dissolves and the wispy remnants disperse around me. I don't react to things the way i used to. No reason to react, nothing to protect. I am not afraid of feelings anymore. They don’t mean anything about ME (nothing there). Just a complex of conditioning that bears gifts. The emotions that are there don’t feel disturbing. Doubt seems to barely be there. Confidence increased. There is a feeling of knowing nothing is too much to handle. Then give some experiential examples of how life changed for you after seeing through this illusion.
It feels elevating, lite, freeing, relieving, airy and open.3) How does it feel to see this?
Before everything felt serious, foreboding, heavy, dark, confusing, demanding and defeating. What is the difference from before you started this dialogue? Please report from the past few days.
4) Can you remember any specific inquiry that resulted in an epiphany? ..a before and after seeing the actuality of the Self.
The hand flipping exercise was eye opening. It was obvious that things were happening and not being controlled by ME.
Lightning didn’t strike but it sort of set off a cascade of unbinding. Proving there is no control made me realize a SELF is not needed anyway. It feels like a belief, that a self would be needed to orchestrate the activities of life, was creating doubt that a self might be there even though i could not find it anywhere. Seeing that self is not needed, felt like (of course its not there, its not even needed!).Was there a point when you ‘got it’?
5) a) Describe decision, intention, free will, choice and control.
All are complete illusions.
What makes things happen? No Thing makes things happen. Things just arise like thoughts and sensing.
I have absolutely no idea how things work. How does it work?
Decisions: No control, no decisions. Deciding presupposes control. For me the feeling is like letting my body do what it does and not engaging in what feels like trying to make a decision. A couple of times i realized i was at a crossroad so i just let my body move towards the first impulse. There is a feeling of not needing to try or steer or decide or push.Give examples from your own recent experiences to how these things happen and how they work.
I am not responsible for anything. Not thoughts (they just arise), not sensations or feelings or emotions (all just arise). Since there is no responsibility or control a spaciousness opens to allow and accept them all without wanting to do anything with them. Before there was wanting to take responsibility for them and use them to beat up an imaginary self. Now a thought is just a thought regardless of its content. An emotion is just an emotion with no meaning, just sensation. There is a welcoming of both, all.b) What are you responsible for? Give examples from your own recent experiences to how this works.
Gratitude. There is no way to express the depth of the gratitude i feel to James and all the other guides and the community. The teachings, the people, the courageousness of our members to expose and become vulnerable, the support we all share and the wealth of willingness by the guides to share their wisdom and support our members. This space is truly amazing, it feels like home.6) Anything to add?
Thank You,
Scott
