What does "I wouldn’t say there’s been some kind of enlightenment experience"? Is this by comparison with stuff you have read and heard? And did we agree that this is not the way here and useless here?

If it is not what you mean, then what is it in direct experience that is lacking?

Remember "you" will NEVER NEVER NEVER be enlightened. What you take to be you, your thoughts and stories about how things are for you across time, is what what we look at here, so as to see, that they are no more than stories.

Awakening is direct experience NOW or nothing. It is not a charachteristic that you have or don't have.

Look if there is atachement to the story about you and your attainment, that actually interest you more then what is just true here now direct experience?

The vibe in several of your messages give me this sense. That is VERY normal. And if it operates without full clarity about what it is (an illusion, an attachment to illusion), we can see and see but remain emotionally dissatisfied.

I speak to my husband occasionally but he is skeptical and believes me to be mentally unstable so this is part of the issue when it comes to believing thoughts .

Lots of time . Well I’m 56 now and began inquiry at 17 . This too is a thought which persists! A warm and patient container is very welcome though 😊.

When experiencing the seeming unpleasantness of now the thoughts which arise are instructing me to stop labelling , go into those feelings, really feeling them physically rather than resist . But then more thoughts come saying, these are thought arising in direct experience so are they not real ? They seem to be giving good advice. There is conflict about what to believe as real .

There certainly has been so much past exposure to what enlightenment is. I have heard it said over and over that “you “ can never be enlightened. So the impatience is about the”I” falling away .

Of course it's okay. I'm with you until you feel clear and through. And if I want to communicate something important (on the level of conventional life, agreements and etc), I will do it directly.

I just know that if a person doesn't have anybody they talk with diretly, and can feel open and seen and heard, changing that can often really help.

Thank you , I’m glad we can continue. I agree it would be helpful to have someone to talk to but at present I don’t.

I have read your message several times and two things came up . Firstly what is lacking in direct experience is the freedom from the need to find something missing.

Also the feeling of attachment to my story of attainment feels more like an attachment to the idea that I am some how not worthy of this freedom.

Look at this belief in unworthiness and "have to find something wrong". Is true in DE? Really?

I also don’t believe any of the stories but they just keep coming. If I believed them I wouldn’t continually inquire because they are generally telling me to stop .

You are stock here on trying to understand conceptually. We are here for seeing not for that.

Maybe the emotional level and resistance is more then you are ready to meet right now, so you keep engaging mentally. This is very live session might be better.

Since speaking with you the emotional resistance has passed and there is peace of mind. Much physical pain but an allowance of this and an attitude of care towards it . The warm container of patience is here now . When thoughts arise another follows saying just thought. Also a profound gratitude for the for the way life is playing out here . 😊
