Yes during the mirror exercise when the hand moved and I saw this in the mirror but no sensation was linked to this movement to connect the movement to the 'self'.

By this I mean that evening noticing the AE is still based upon thoughts which label the experience.

That statement says to me that there is no AE without thought. Or put another way that AE is dependent on thought.

Yes that I what I meant by that statement but I now see that you can have AE without thought.

Can you see that it isn't that you "can" have AE without thought?.

AE is different from thought. It is what arises without our doing ot thinking anything. It is this "just happening" that you have in your subject line.

We want to be sure you're seeing this clearly.

Try this:


Nature Exercise

Go out into nature and spend some time watching the movement of the whole. See how clouds move, trees swing, leaves wiggle, grass moves, insects, birds - all move all the time.

Then move focus to sensations and see how they too are in constant motion, thoughts come and go, sounds, colours, sensations come and go.

Notice that everything is part of one movement.

Then close your eyes and see if there is a line between you and out there, between you and life itself.

If yes, where is the boundary?

Is there an inside and an outside of Life?

Is there something which is not included in the movement of the whole?

Is there a witness that is watching life happening from a distance?

Is witnessing part of the one movement, too?

Is there anything which is not just happening?

Go out, come back and tell me what you found.

No even the witnessing is just part of the whole.

There is a difference, the exercise really allowed me to see everything that was happening outside was not determined by my thinking and that this therefore applies to everything.

Often we are doing something and not thinking about that thing we are doing but it is happening anyway.

This has reinforced my understanding and is allowing for more acceptance to arrive, especially for times when the thoughts are saying ‘I should be doing cuz’. I now really see that this is all just thinking and whatever is happening in that moment is what is happening and no thought will change that. This gives a feeling of lightness and expansion!
