Re: Hi, just getting started.
I am just getting started, there’s more than just one False “I”. It’s an ego game still and part of a coming undone of what never was. There isn’t any place that I am to head towards just no turning away from all false self-constructs still seemingly standing. “I’ve” got some monkeys on my back that (although imaginary) still need to be lovingly confronted with nothingness.
I’ve wondered if this is yet another way to escape, or prolong and excuse a faithful leap into total uncertainty. Either way the good the bad and ugly remain. Having understood that it’s all play doesn’t make these constructs disappear on their own.
Take care,
Melissa

Re: Hi, just getting started.
Hi Melissa,
It goes from: this is "my" monkey on "my" back, and this "monkey" is real...
to...there is a fictional monkey on the back of a fictional self. What's that all about? :)
Every single day, I'm working with some aspect of social-conditioning of this organism known as John and yet there is no "I". Have to say, it's a lot more fun and fluid since seeing, because there is a heaviness to the "I" and it's so-called attachments that make all the fictions feel real - and that can be not a lot of fun.
Escapism is interesting - even that is a false hope. As if that were possible, to wave a wand and all the challenges of life dissolve. In a way, they do change but only because the perception of them changes because we are coming at it from a no-self and no not-self place.
Does this help to clarify things a little or not?
Speak soon,
John
Beautifully put. You are spot on. Seeing that you are not this separate self "I" is not an escape from our social-conditioning/monkeys-on-backs - however, it is a shift of orientation.I am just getting started, there’s more than just one False “I”. Hi John,
Yes! It’s definitely a lighter experience that is somewhat humorous and amazing. In this process taking a good look at fictional me and the illusions that are most dominate has been a strange. Not so complicated but amazing how intricate and woven these stories/constructs are. When I checked these attachments out and wondered off into the elaborate tale it’s like reading mythology.
Thanks for the clarification!

Re: Hi, just getting started.
Hi Melissa,
Which is why our focus needs to be on direct seeing, direct experiencing.
Quietly...
Just choose a book to hold. Who chose?
Open the book and begin to read a page. Does it seem like "you are reading a book"?
What is directly happening...eyes open, light being received, take the labels "you", "reading", "book" off, nothing is as it seems...turn the focus on you, who are you, what are you without a label?
What is noticed...now.
Speak soon,
John
It is a mythology. As is liberation. If the truth be known, no-one has a clue. LOL :) Life is just too mysterious.Hi John,

Re: Hi, just getting started.
Thanks again very much for your phrasing of words.
You brought up for sake.
Sake? Reason?
....There is no reason in any circumstance it just is. So the isness becomes the story, we can get all elborate and all it the mystery story, the sad story the love story ect......Can we even talk outside of story? Ever?
Let’s have another look at the original statement asked for looking’s sake:
"Have you seen this now Melissa...that there never was, is, or ever will be a separate self "Melissa" running the show?"
Melissa/"Melissa" , this/that..........they all come from the same source.
Thanks:)

Re: Hi, just getting started.
Hi John,
In a given now the experience of awareness is noticing what is happening: the sounds the forms the movement everything as it is happening simultaneously. There is aliveness in everything, even objects like a couch. Also there is a sense of awe, relatedness, and a profound appreciation/empathy occurring in synch with the noticing.
Take care,
Melissa

Re: Hi, just getting started.
Hi Melissa,
1) Is there a 'me', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form? Was there ever? how about self, is there anything that is separate from everything else?
2) Explain in detail what the illusion of separate self is, when it starts and how it works.
3) How does it feel to see this? describe in detail.
4) How would you describe it to somebody who has never heard about this illusion but is curious about it.
5) What was the last bit that pushed you over, made you look? was there a specific moment when seeing happened or was it gradual? what exactly happened?
WIth best wishes,
John
Lovely stuff. Would you take a look at these 5 questions and respond with whatever comes up...write as much as appears.Hi John,
