Hi. :)
Could you keep observing the part you aren't sure about?
Is there really a layer? Or is it something conceptual?
Looking for some help please

Re: Looking for some help please
Hi :)
The doing is perceived as something that pertains to the body - e.g. he touched the hot ......
Similarly the experiencing is felt as being experienced by the body. He felt pain (because the touched the hot ...)
The doing and experiencing are interwoven - looking at bright sunlight and experiencing glare, experiencing thirst and drinking water. So they can arise in any order
The layers are conceptual."The doing is one layer. Then a step back is the experiencing of the doing. Maybe they're the same level/layer, I'm not sure. "

Hi :)
Without the concept of "layer," what drinks water?
Could you actually drink it and observe again?

Hi :)
The drinking of water is just a set of experiences .... and actually the set of experiences could be different each time water is drunk..
Seeing water, clear
Lips touch glass
Throat feels liquid, cooling
Nothing is drinking the water. Though that sounds ridiculous and impossible to substantiate.Without the concept of "layer," what drinks water?

Thanks. :)
How do you see “consciousness,” “awareness”
or “energy” now?

Hi :)
So consciousness is experiencing, consciousness is noticing ( is the watcher,) and at the same time is the big bowl of soup from which everything arises
This seems to be what they mean by "consciousness being aware of itself"How do you see “consciousness,” “awareness”
or “energy” now?

Hi. :)
For that you are comparing it
with what someone said.
What if you don’t use any of the
three words I mentioned in my previous
post?
Please describe more.

Hi :)
Sorry for radio silence. Always happens with a difficult question :)

There is some sort of life force, divine spirit, interconnected web of everything running the show - it is all a show, playing itself out. It is observing itself and the world it is experiencingWhat if you don’t use any of the three words (consciousness energy awareness) I mentioned in my previous post?
Please describe more.

Hi. :) Good to hear from you.
And I feel it's time now to get through this.
Please tell everything you realized about about self.
Best regards,
Bananafish

Hi :)
Whole lives and identities are built around sense of self. I'm sporty, I'm a vegetarian, I'm kind....all labels. The ego clings to this identity as without it, it can see no purpose.
Further still, ""I am (label)" gives us the idea that we are an entity separate from everyone else, the 'everyone else' perceived as a whole bunch of other separate/individual entities. As such, it is possible for people to hate, wound, kill, get angry with....rather than seeing everything and everyone as a different expression of the same thing...
The self believes thought and memory and thinks they are real, when in actual fact is is just a thought or stored perception, neither of which are real.
Sense of self gives rise to the belief that it is flesh and blood that is born and dies, that it is an entity inhabiting the body, or the body itself.
The sense of self may cause us to feel threatened by the words or actions of "others" and we can be drawn into unconscious behaviour (e.g. getting angry) when this occurs
A baby is born. It experiences life quite simply - then it is given a label - a name. Instead of this being used for communication and convenience, it is the start of the construct of identity, persona, self, my teddy, my mummy, my house. Then in later life my goals, my husband, my car. This pure form of "being" forgets very quickly how to "be".Please tell everything you realized about about self.

Hi :)
I wrote that whole lives and identities are built around sense of self, but actually it occurs to me that sense of self is in the driving seat. It directs, manages, controls, protects (or thinks it does). It is looking for the next fix, adrenaline rush, consumer gadget. It is looking for approval, to impress people, it is offended or hurt by what people say...looking for prestige or awards or qualifications to bolster self image/confidence...doing courses of self improvement....doing doing doing rather than being being being. Without this sense of self and identity, all this falls away. Which is quite liberating ;)

Hi :)
Yes at times - but I see it for what it is. I observe what's happening more, I notice people caught up in sense of self, and catch myself at it too at times. Is there sense of self or not, now?

Hi. :)
Great to hear that!
I will have my fellow guides have a look at the thread, and see if
they have any questions they want to ask.
Please wait for a while.
