Something that never changes that is all around. Ok you have experienced looking at things without a 'looker' and choosing without a 'chooser'. At those times there has been a state without an 'I' as you have described it.Yes!
But it's not anything in there. There's something that never changes but it's not a fixed entity I can point to it's all around.
Perhaps this could be described as 'just THIS' or pure awareness or whatever, and you can feel that such would not change.
Is that right, does that describe your experience ?
I'll presume enough to continue anyway ! At this stage we can say this has been your perception, not anything that 'exists'.It doesn't change while that is your perception but where is 'it' afterwards ?
Is that perception yours so there is something of you that doesn't, on some level, change ?
Maybe someday that will be your ongoing perception but right now we want to root out the separation of an 'I' that perceives.
separate self, no wee core to which everything is referred back. Good, in which case you have got it.NO!
We just need to make sure you have really got it without holding to the notion of something permanent.
Sorry about that, the rapper within, shit meaning your stuff, thoughts feelings, stories and so on. I was saying it is a short step from not identifying with all the 'stuff' that arises --these thing are 'me'---to not identifying with the thought/belief in a separate self.Don't understand your phrase.
There's freedom.There's no point?
That sounds great. By mixed I presume you mean all those things arise together. Rich, yes, when things are positive it all feels very rich.No identification everything is just as it is mental states, feelings and emotions included. Mixed not separate and very rich.
Are things just as they are, without identification ? Really, is it known for sure there is no 'I' ?
I wrote about this already but 'field' brings to mind the phrase 'ground of being', another possible description of your experience. There isn't a 'thing' though, there can be an awakening to uncontaminated perception but not 'yours' or 'mine'.Still not sure about this that never changes. It's not an it. It's certainly not an I more like field but it's all inclusive endless I can only experience part of it but its larger than whatever this is which is not I.
While there is a thing there is someone who enjoyed that thing, someone separate from the perception; an 'I' .
Why are you trying to understand ? Keep it simple.Don't make sense anymore sorry.
When I try to understand I get tense again, identification takes place when trying to understand?
Why not try the exercises you have done so far and simply look in your direct experience for anything that constitutes a self.
