Aside from being controlled by the media ,by having certain drives ,by needs (such as needing to be accepted) and by being constrained by the English language, I truly don't think the self has any chance at deciding , intending and choosing events in our lives. Should the "soul" which I differentiate from "self", "ego", "voice over" obtain any capacity to influence or manifest any change it would have to come from an external source and from not being disturbed or influenced by the "carnal" nattering of the "self", not to negate carnality, but perhaps we shouldn't constantly be ruled by it, not that we have any choice. I'm actually quite surprised at how little I listen to the voice over, "self". when I am extremely busy. This opinion does not negate the possibility of alien or divine intervention.
I do not make anything happen , because I am of this earth and one with it. My flesh is a part of the all. I see, hear and taste nothing without having something so see, hear or taste. I cannot breath without air, and I cannot love without another. Everything is in relation to other. For example, by definition, I am old because there are young. I am strong because there are weak . To make something happen would suggest that I am outside of this world. The effects that have lead up to my being here create a propensity for further action.

Wow! There is a lot of information in your replies to these three questions. Are you happy for us to explore them, since I think they raise several questions that could be beneficial?

I acknowledge that the "self" or the "apparent entity" , or the monotonous and repetitive "voice over"
acquires its voice depending on age, influence and culture, there is nothing particularly unique about it, it's like a snow-flake that evaporates under the light, except that it never takes any form. The impression that I am getting from what you are saying is that if an angel, or an alien were to talk to me it might have a hard time differentiating between me and the tree beside me. You do not believe in a soul as an "apparent entity" in any shape or form.

Don't I? I find that believing in all sorts of ideas happens at different times, it's just that I can't find a 'believer' who is supposed to be the one that actually believes any of it.

Yes culture and media seem to be like the 'voice-over', often announcing about 'the way things are' or 'the way things should be'. Do these stories need to be believed?

I thought we were going to explore whiteness and redness? That sounds like more fun than talking about the soul.
I know very little about the soul , since I haven't studied that much about theology and religion. I do differentiate between the "self' , "ego" , "the voice-over" and the soul. I remember as a child in Sunday-School the devil tries to steal souls through temptation. I imagine the "soul" as a connection between the being and the divine. That which passes on after death, either to the next life, heaven or heaven on earth , which is what the Jehovah witnesses believe. Gotta run. I believe in Love.

According to Wikipedia, "The soul in many religions, philosophical and mythological traditions, is the incorporeal and immortal essence of a living being" Most probably why I mentioned soul was because I have witnessed what I would definitely consider my Mother's soul leaving her body when she died. I also have a witness who saw the same thing. Another really far out episode of synchronicity involving a schizophrenic woman has most definitely proven to me that deceased loved ones can communicate from the beyond.

I was not asking you to look up what 'soul' is meant to be according to someone else's thoughts about it.

Do you see why I am asking you to tell me what soul is to you? Because the way you speak about soul here makes it clear that you believe this is some kind of personal entity that lives in the body and carries on being a person even after death?

So, when I have asked you if It is possible to find a 'self' anywhere in experience, In any way shape or form, it seems to have been identified with soul all along?

Don't you feel that there is some confusion here? It looks like 'I' has its very own hiding place?
