The question is: Are you aware? Or are you your body/head?
Both. In the same sense that a plant is a stem plus a leaf and also aware of the sunlight.
Are you that which you are aware of?
Yes, I am self-aware.
Are you your hand in front of you?
That question is incoherent. You're asking me if I am part of myself.
I am myself, the whole thing. The parts are just that- parts.
If we chop it off, would this alter anything about what is aware?
.
Yes it would. That thing which is aware, is the whole which consists of the head, the torso, the hands, etc.
If you remove part of that then you have altered that thing which is aware.

All of these answers follow directly from the definition of "me" as being that object which you refer to as "you",
ie the human you would directly experience if we met, and the author of these messages. If you agree with that, then please keep in mind that whenever you write the word "you" you can replace that word with "the entire animal of the species homo sapiens who is reading this message".

Can you cut your nails? (without hurting yourself of course)
Tell me afterwards if this changed anything of what is aware. Tell me if this truly actually, in your direct experience, changed that what is aware. Has that changed, if so what changed, or is that just a thought?

Please note I am not talking about your thoughts about it, I am not talking about recalling different nails appearing in visual sight, from memory. I am asking if you noticed any change in you the quality of your awareness.

If you are your body/head... then that what is aware must be getting old right?
Is this your direct experience? Do you that what you perceive as hearing, less freshly as say 10 year before, a little crackled now perhaps?

Here is an other excersize. Look around in your room. Based on ONLY your visual input, can you experience any border? Do your eyes, or your visual capacity itself experience any border what is your body/head or what is not your body/head. Or is this separation only a conclusion, an idea in thought?

Same for hearing. Can you hear a border of what is inside or outside? Or is it more correct to say there just hearing happening?

Sorry, I replied to this many days ago but it seems that it was not uploaded properly.
Are you aware? Or are you your body/head?
.
Both. That's a false dichotomy. I am my body/head and I am self-aware.
Are you that which you are aware of?
When I am aware of myself, yes.
Are you your hand in front of you?
That's like asking "Is England the country next to England"?
It's false by definition. Whatever you define "you" to be, it is not something different to itself.
If you meant to ask if the hand is part of me, then yes it is.
If we chop it off, would this alter anything about what is aware?
.
1) I am my body and my head
2) I am aware of myself
3) My hand is part of my body

So if we chop off my hand, we chop off part of me.
That which is aware is me. So we would be chopping off part of that which is aware.

Hi Greg,

Did you ever in your life experience time?
I dont need/want an explanation of what you think time is, I want to know if you ever experience time itself.

Thanks,
Martijn
