Good evening Sarah, I hear about something ocurring on the news, and others confirm hearing this news, that this happening occurred, even though i cant know for sure it occurred, without these assumptions there would just be walking around with a confused mind all the time.
Do thoughts get confused Sarah7? (Looking at thought seems to make it disappear, or change content) how can thought be confused? If it isnt thought that gets confused what is it? Central mind? Please help me see.
Wow, what is looking? What is this nothing in space from which experience lives?! What is it looking at all this?inside which part of the experience wants to know
Xx

Hi Adam
Direct experience! Look. How do you know this outside of thought? And again – how can you experience something you don’t experience?

Hi Adam
You tell me!
Is thought part of direct experience?
Is thought content part of direct experience?
Is it habit that sends us to thought content first?

Hi Sarah,
I am having a hard time with what your getting at because i dont see a seperation between thought and its content, the content is the thought, without it there wouldnt be a thought.

The thought is experienced yes? But is the content real or just a thought - Is that what you meant?

Hi Sarah,
Yes, thought stream is experienced, but the content is never accurate.

Hi Adam
No separate self creating thoughts.
No separate self controlling thoughts.
No separate self witnessing the thoughts.
Please be clear with each question.

Second post Adam.
A hand can turn to show the palm, then turn back, then turn to palm and so on. Watch like a hawk, this turn and pause, turn and pause. To begin with, try as hard as you can to understand how this turning is happening, what's causing it, who is causing it.
Then, write down all your conclusions and beliefs about that.
Then, watch the hand like a hawk. Enjoy not-knowing when it will turn, or turn back. Enjoy not having to know when or how it turns.
Are you separate from the turning?

Hi Sarah
1st post
There is no control of thought, even if a thought arises saying prove you control thought by thinking this (whatever) there still is no control because there is no I that created the initial thought to test the theory in the first place
There is no one anywhere, that can be located, that is controlling what thought content arises, where it comes from, where it goes, or how long it lasts
As much as there is no one controlling the thoughts, there is no one witnessing the thoughts that can be located, the thoughts them selfs cant be located, either.

2nd post
I feel its from the envirement
I read this post which talked about turning a palm
And turning the palm was going to happen
Exactly when it began after reading i dont know why, thoughts arose about the speed at which the palm was turned, why this speed idk, then thoughts wanted the palm turned faster
All of these incidents, the thoughts, the reading, the actual turning of the palm, are all synonomous, they all arise into awareness they do not cause the other, they happen simultaneously or in sequence to form direct experience. Through out typing this i continued to flip my hand over every few sentences, i dont know why, i dont know when it would happen, i dont know for how long it would happen, even when thoughts would rise up about those very same questions, i still didnt know, because there was no "I" to form such questions to begin with, there was no I that calculated at what intervals of speed of movement and length time i would move my hand, there was no "i" that decided, "nows the time to think about such things and raise such questions"
I hope i made sense.
Look forward to hearing back

Hi Adam
Can you look deeply into "Am I separate from the turning?" - to NOT just answer it from the head. Go deeply, and then deeper still and give me a clear answer.
What can thoughts DO? Can thoughts control actions? Can they control or interact with other thoughts ,if so describe how that works? Can thoughts get confused? (I know I've asked this one!). Therefore what power do thoughts talking about I/me/mine/Adam have? Are they more important or special than other thoughts? Nice clear answer please.

Re: Mindfulness,Meditation,and True Nature - Adam51387
I am not the turning, there is just that which notices the turning, the turning does not continue on through out the rest of time. Neither does awareness. Am i whatever sensation is experienced in this moment, you could say that, but then it changes. Nothings permenent.
Thoughts have no control, thoughts are dead. Thoughts cant interact or influence other thoughts, because once a thought passes, it cant come back, even if another thought comes with same content it is still a new thought in a different time, therefore it is not the same, there is memory, and conditioning, where content seems to be reocurring, but it is not old thoughts coming back, it is new but similar thought content.
