When has it ever not been now?
Never. I get it.

Yes. Never.

It does appear that choices we make now, play out in the future. That we can influence future events. However, when we pause from the running monolog of thought about our limited self, and look directly at what is occurring during the present moment, examine our direct experience, it is discovered that the whole story is false. Our direct experience of this moment now never confirms a thinker, controller or chooser, or a separate limited self. We have never experienced a self in isolation from the entire field of perception perceived now.

I will followup later on your questions about death, most likely tomorrow morning my time. I am on Central Standard Time US. What time zone are you in?

South African Time. 8 hours ahead of CST. Sometimes it seems to live in thought is necessary in the way society has played out. But your description fits my current view completely. It is almost like the universe plays out through experience itself. Things work out on there own.

I am interested in your answers about death. Although that would just be thinking about a future. I guess my recent experience with my mother has brought this thinking about.

Thought is useful for transacting in the world. It is when we identify ourselves solely as this bundle of thoughts that we run into trouble. Our direct experience of the world is completely different than what thought thinks about the world. It is important to always return to what is actually being experienced in the present moment now.

This brings me to your questions and concerns about death of the body and mind. First, I ask that you examine your own experience. Have you ever experienced non-existence?

With regard to the death of other body minds, we need to first return to the notion of a separate self trapped in a body. Is this born out in our experience? Do we know of any object that is actually finite and separate of the entire field of consciousness? If there is no self, how could there be other selfs? Is there separate awareness's or is this one unbroken field of awareness that all objects appear in?

I have several videos by Rupert Spira That I would like you to watch, while keeping in mind the questions I have asked here.

Also, I agree with everything Rupert shares in these videos. I'm much to lazy to type all this out when he has already done a fine job covering the same ground.

Wow. This is a difficult thing to do to explain the true nature of being. I watched those and a few other of Rupert's videos. One thing that really struck me was his description of how matter arises within consciousness instead of the other way around. He explains it really well. Thank you.
Have you ever experienced non-existence?
No.

No. It is a thought.
Do we know of any object that is actually finite and separate of the entire field of consciousness?
No. Any such knowing is just thought.
If there is no self, how could there be other selfs?
There cannot. There are obviously multiple sense perceptions happening. But all through the same eternal consciousness. The only thing appearing to separate them is thought. Memory of experience and ability to have sense perception as a body does appear to create distinctions between sentient beings. Perhaps memory and thought of separate experiences are what creates the illusion.
Is there separate awareness's or is this one unbroken field of awareness that all objects appear in?
This is tricky. There must be one unbroken awareness. What we term as our ability to have sense perception occurs from multiple sentient beings. The way I see it is that it is one unbroken field of awareness and individual bodies seem to have a separate experience due to memory of past experiences. Again this is just thought. It is tricky to talk about this.

It is truly mind boggling. :) On the other hand, when we look at our direct experience, we have never experienced multiple realities, perceptions, experiences. No matter how many apparent others are present.

I would like to give you the final questions again. Are you ready for that?

Hi Kevin. Take your time but try and not disappear like last time. :)

1) Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form? Was there ever?

2) Explain in detail what the illusion of separate self is, when it starts and how it works from your own experience. Describe it fully as you see it now.

3) How does it feel to see this? What is the difference from before you started this dialogue? Please report from the past few days.

4) What was the last bit that pushed you over, made you look?

5) Describe decision, intention, free will, choice and control. What makes things happen? How
does it work? What are you responsible for? Give examples from experience.

6) Anything to add?

No. There was never.
Explain in detail what the illusion of separate self is, when it starts and how it works from your own experience. Describe it fully as you see it now.
The illusion of the separate self is the thought that experience and the body are one, separate from objects that exist inside and outside of experience. That thought and actions are brought about through a controlling entity called I. Through my own experience I cannot say how it starts. It is just thought. It is not experienced now.
How does it feel to see this? What is the difference from before you started this dialogue? Please report from the past few days.
At times sense perception is a lot clearer. Times still arise where thoughts and the attempt to control arise. However I no longer resist them as they are what is. I feel more relaxed and more accepting of what happens.

What was the last bit that pushed you over, made you look?

Relinquishing the illusion of control. Rupert Spira's one video on how the ideas arise and that is what controls actions. There is no I choosing between alternative options. Even when the answer comes, it is not by choice, it is uncontrolled thought arising.
Describe decision, intention, free will, choice and control. What makes things happen? How
does it work? What are you responsible for? Give examples from experience.
Decision, intention, free will, choice and control are all illusions made by the mind. Experience happens. Everything else is just spontaneous thought that brings about an action that is now. There is no control over any of these 5 things. There is no you to be responsible. There is awareness witnessing what is happening. An example just happened. My sister came into the room asking what tea I wanted. A thought spontaneously arose that said chamomile. Which was my answer. There was no intention or choice. It was simply a thought that came. Another example is when I drop something, like my cellphone. I dont choose to try and catch it before it lands on the floor. This simply happens in awareness.
Anything to add?
I will sit and reflect and post again tomorrow.

Thank you Joseph and liberation unleashed. Now I get to have a red name to identify with;) The strange thing is that I notice enlightenment was a goal. It was like I wanted something more. And once you see through this you have no desire anymore. But everything is still as it was. Its like I have accomplished nothing but that is okay. Truly liberating. You have made a major impact here and my appreciation goes out to you for your patience and understanding during our process.
