I have been, and still am in many ways a practitioner of buddhist, vipassana. I have not seen through the sense of self, or I don't know if I have. Although I want to approach this with no agenda, I have to be honest. There is the concern that I will lose effectiveness in mmoving forward with material goals, like getting a job, earning money, having good relationships and generally reaching peace and balance in all areas of this life situation. As wishy washy as that may sound, I am in ernest ready to look and see whatever needs to be seen. Looking for a guide who has seen through and has guided others. Also who understands where I may be coming from. Not necessary to have practiced vipassana, but a guide who has practiced vip, and been able to see using these methods would probably be helpful. My big question is, is it possible to release and still have goals?
Sincerely
Satyaprakash (Light of Truth)

Re: Looking for a guide that can help me clear up some ambig
Just wanted to add. I have checked out a lot of the LU videos on youtube and have been using the Enlightening Quotes app. I had an experience years ago that kept me searching and on some level, trying to re-create that earlier event with its insights.
I would also like to emphasize that it is not necessary that a willing guide be buddhist.

are you still around or no?
A buddhist monk walks in to a pizza shop and asks the pizza guy, make me one with everything....

Hello Monarch,
I am still around. I was around more in the past. I had a dialog going with Nona Parry. I feel we were close to seeing, but I got distracted. I am still interested in seeing the truth, but I think I should seek out Non a and see where we stand if she is still around.
What are your intentions, and what's it like for you these days.
So, Non a if you're out there, how are you doing?

I'm contacting her now for you and as for my intentions I'm always out to bring the end to suffering for me and everyone else and inspire that attitude for people.

Hi Nona,
Happy to be with you again. I feel I need to catch up by reading where we left off. Maybe not. I, at present, can say that I have only an intellectual understanding of no -self. I do not have a lived, in my bones experience of this reality.

Well, Satya, join me in our previous thread; read it again or not; and let's see what happens!
