Re: Looking for a guide
Yes, of course. I think I wasn't completely certain about the meaning of 'free will'. Ok, been looking at it and now that I I understand the term fully I reckon 'free will' is part of the illusion of separate self. There truly is no 'thing' to 'choose' so there can be no free will.

Re: Looking for a guide
Hi J,
I didn't think I was identifying seeing 'no-self' with a permanent state. I've been looking at that and watched a very helpful Rupert Spira video called (I think) 'Awakening is not the same as bliss'.
I've been looking at 'control' . I don't see myself trying to hold onto 'control'.
I was a ...

Re: Looking for a guide
5) Describe decision, intention, free will, choice and control. What makes things happen? How
does it work? What are you responsible for? Give examples from experience
Decision
I think decision happens as a result of energy arising in response to a multitude of conditions. I haven't had much ...

Re: Looking for a guide
Can you just unpack this a bit more:
You say "Separate self is when experience is filtered through the medium of 'me': I feel, I taste, I see, I think etc. The feeling, tasting, seeing etc seems only to be able to be experienced with reference to the self. We place ourself at the centre of ...

Re: Looking for a guide
1) Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form? Was there
ever?
No, not at all. Never.
2) Explain in detail what the illusion of separate self is, when it starts and how it works from
your own experience. Describe it fully as you see it now ...

Re: Looking for a guide
Ok. Will probably take me a few days to cover all of that. Be nice to go throughout it as slowly and depth fully as possible, if i can anyway. That ok?

Re: Looking for a guide
It feels like experiencing has shifted from 'portrait' to 'landscape'. Lots and lots of space. A lot of warm happy feelings, some tingling gentleness but a lot of space around the feelings. Still very ordinary with all that. Very very ordinary.

Re: Looking for a guide
I got out of the way, J. Thanks!Reality is always already 100% right now right here. What you seek for is already what is. It's JUST THIS JUST NOW. 'You' don't have to do anything to see this, except get out of the way.

Re: Looking for a guide
Hi J,
Thanks for the encouragement and great questions.
I doubt seeking has ended.
What doubts this? Are there thoughts that there should be something else, something more than this
?
You got me - that made me laugh; of course, no 'one' doubts but there are some doubting thoughts. I ...

Re: Looking for a guide
So how does it feel to see this?
Is there anything more to do? Has 'seeking' ended ?
Ah, if only it were so simple.
I doubt seeking has ended. Everything feels much the same. The only difference is that I sometimes fall into a sort of 'flow' (a kind of harmony- with a twist of bliss ...

Re: Looking for a guide
So if we go back to the question that opened this dialogue -- what comes up in response to this statement now?
"There is no self -- no 'me' or 'I' behind any of our thoughts, feelings or actions -- nor has there ever been"
Oh gosh, how to answer that..
I've been coming back to this all day. I ...

Re: Looking for a guide
so look to see -- is a 'decision' an actual event that takes place at a point in time determined by some executive entity (my 'self') or is it just a tipping point in a flow of energy? Part of a natural and wholistic energetic movement like the weather? Just part of life? No-one separate who is ...

Re: Looking for a guide
there are many energetic responses that don't quite tip into action or are take over by other energetic movements -- say you open the fridge to get an apple for a snack then you notice left-over chocolate cake -- for a moment the energy moves to the chocolate cake and the hand reaches out -- but ...
