Re: Ready
1) a) No. b) No.
2) The illusion of a separate self is just a thought or a collection of thoughts about a seeming self-center. The thought of a thing is not the thing itself. If you actually look for an individual self or a separate self, it can't be found.

Re: Ready
Thanks, Nenad. Thanks also for the time you've been spending on my looking.
There's no separate me because there's no me in the first place. There's no personal me, no self-center. Any sense of me is just a thought and a thought of something isn't the thing itself.
One thing about that however ...

Re: Ready
It's not a thought. Maybe it's a nonverbal impulse. I can observe that it happens. Exactly what the "it" is that happens is beyond me.
This point seems to be important to you. I don't know what it is. How can I tell? How can anyone ever know for sure? There isn't anything more for me to say about ...

Re: Ready
As indicated above, it's a mystery. I'm not causing it. It just happens.
Re: Ready
No clue. LOL. It's a mystery. I'm not causing it and it happens, like thoughts and actions.
Re: Ready
Re: assumptions and perspective, no. While I do seem to see from the perspective of the eyes, people who lose their eyes can't see. If there was another way to see, they would do it. Eyes are necessary.

Re: "popping out," OK, bad description on my part. My perspective altered, temporarily bi-located. One perspective was from my eyes to the ground. Another was from above and behind my right shoulder, looking down at my body.
What I really am, is in the body and everywhere else too.
As for sight ...

Re: Ready
I don't have any experience of eyes actually performing seeing. Ditto for the other 4 senses.
They do _seem_ to be a necessary element of the phenomenon of sight however. If I cover my eyes, I don't see. People who are born without eyes or who lose them through some very unfortunate event also don ...

Re: Ready
Each of the 5 sensing units is located in a particular part of the body where it performs its own sensing.
If I'm eating soup, let's say; I taste it, not someone else. My tongue tastes soup; not my ears, eyes, nose or skin. The receipt point is my body, specifically the tongue. There's a similar ...

No, I don 't control the reading.
Re: Ready
OK about the hand and the table.
I don't know how big I am.
I can't find where I begin or end so maybe I don't do either. I can't find any boundaries.
I can't find any place between inner or outer so I don't think there is a distinction between the two. Those two words lose their meaning.

Re: Ready
Hand is experienced by the sensations where it meets the table. Table is experienced as the sensations picked up by the hand and the inability of the hand to go farther in that direction.

Re: Ready
Wow. I haven't done this before either.
No, I can't pinpoint the exact moment when a decision happens.
I don't know when the poised fingers will tap. The thought, "Tap now," has no effect on the fingers poised to tap. I can't notice when or from where the instruction comes that does make them tap ...
