As indicated above, it's a mystery. I'm not causing it. It just happens.

Hi :)

Yes, I understand that you are not causing it and that you don‘t know HOW it happens. Good. Now I am asking you WHAT is it that happens, what is it that you call “I decide to folow your instructions“? Is it a thought “I am going to folow his instructions“ or what?

It's not a thought. Maybe it's a nonverbal impulse. I can observe that it happens. Exactly what the "it" is that happens is beyond me.

This point seems to be important to you. I don't know what it is. How can I tell? How can anyone ever know for sure? There isn't anything more for me to say about this. I'm rapidly losing interest in this point.

If what I've stated above is inadequate, is there another way of presenceing the point you want me to see directly? I'm open to looking elsewhere or in a different way.

There is nothing inadequate with what you said :)
Ok, let us move on: Do you have any doubts whether there is a separate you?

Thanks, Nenad. Thanks also for the time you've been spending on my looking.

There's no separate me because there's no me in the first place. There's no personal me, no self-center. Any sense of me is just a thought and a thought of something isn't the thing itself.

One thing about that however:

When I get up in the morning, my default reality is that I'm a body-mind that needs some attending to. I shower, dress for the day and have breakfast. There's a seemingness that there's a me that has requirements and takes action. When I occasionally check, I see again that there's really no me.

I assume that that seemingness of a me will gradually erode, even if the body-mind and the action continue.

You are very welcome :)

Good, there is no personal me at all, the sense of personal me is just a thought.

Actions and seemingness (thoughts) will most likely both continue. That doesn‘t mean that you are the body-mind, of course, that is just how the show works :)
If you feel ready, please answer these 6 questions (even though you allready answered some of them):

I didn‘t paste them:) here they are:

1) Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form? Was there ever?

2) Explain in detail what the illusion of separate self is, when it starts and how it works from your own experience. Describe it fully as you see it now.

3) How does it feel to see this? What is the difference from before you started this exploration( I mean both the difference from before you started exploring few years ago and the difference from before you started this dialogue)?
4) What was the last bit that pushed you over, made you look?
5) Do you decide, intend, choose, control events in Life? Do you make anything happen? Give examples from your experience.
6) Anything to add?

1) a) No. b) No.

2) The illusion of a separate self is just a thought or a collection of thoughts about a seeming self-center. The thought of a thing is not the thing itself. If you actually look for an individual self or a separate self, it can't be found.

It starts at a very young age, maybe with our parents teaching us our name. It gets reinforced by language and culture. People point to our body and say, "you." Thoughts occur and the ones one person is aware of, are different from the ones others are aware of and so people think the thoughts they're aware of belong to them and that they're separate from others.

Action occurs without a thought. The thought of doing something does not precede the action. Nor does a thought cause an action.

Thought and action aren't caused by anybody. They just happen.

3) I'm OK with it. I have no strong feelings one way or the other. Seeing truth more fully or more clearly is always a good thing. If anything, there's no me to take credit for success or blame for failure so there's nothing to pin pride or sadness on. Before I started this dialogue, I had a good understanding of it. Now it's more complete since I have seen a few new facets of it.

4) b) What made me look was a leader of a modality I participate in. I wanted to understand what he was talking about. a) What pushed me over was seeing that action occurred independently of any observable thought.

5) No. Trick question? There's no me to do any of those things.

6) No.

Hi :)

Thanks for replies. I asked other guides if they have any more questions about seeing there is no personal you. You will hear from me asap.
