Re: Ready to see the Self for what it is

6) When you say "I", what are you referring to?

A non-personal label for the character "Michael", which consists of the body / mind which life is lived through.

7) Is there an experiencer experiencing, or is there only experience?

There's only the experience. The idea of an experiencer is ...

Re: Ready to see the Self for what it is

1) Is there a 'me', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form? Was there ever? how about self, is there anything that is separate from everything else?

No, no 'me' at all anywhere. There never was- only thoughts about a so called 'self'. Just a sensation / belief of there being a self ...

Re: Ready to see the Self for what it is

I don't think anything :)
Haha

Let's look at this, what is the feeling 'uncomfortable' about? Look into it in direct experience.

In response to your question about the final questions, it co-arises with the thought "I can't do it." It comes up as an uneasiness/constriction in what's perceived ...

Re: Ready to see the Self for what it is

Do you feel ready to answer what is called the final questions?

First thing that happened in response to this question was the thought, "I'm not ready." and uncomfortable sensations. Like looking at expectations though, that was just based in an idea of there being an "I" and an idea of "what it ...

Re: Ready to see the Self for what it is

Yes. It can never be other than it is this instant :)

This is it.

What happens when reading that?

Mind came in, "yes, but so what?"

Now just a jumble of thoughts about how to answer this question. But the jumble of thoughts about how to answer the question are actually creating the answer ...

Re: Ready to see the Self for what it is

I expect that the sense of a personal self will totally vanish.
It doesn't have to be seen through, it's just not there.
Nothing that happens in the world will be resisted, everything is just in a state of pure flow.
I won't feel at all self-conscious about what other people think about me ...

Re: Ready to see the Self for what it is

Please write all the expectations you can find on how it would be to fully see there is no I.

Alright, here it goes!

Re: Ready to see the Self for what it is

What happens when decisions is made?

Tried this with contracting and relaxing a leg. It just happens. There's a brief sensation of choice/intention, followed quickly by the sensation of tightness/flexing.

Any I in making decisions?

The only time an "I" showed up was afterwards with a thought ...

Re: Ready to see the Self for what it is

Is it your body or a body?

there's just the felt sensations, and unclear images that come up. the label "body" or "mine" sometimes comes up afterwards.

Are sensations felt in body?

there are felt sensations, saying they're in the body is a thought added afterwards.

Do you experience a body ...

Re: Ready to see the Self for what it is

In response to your question, the first answer that came up as a thought was a strong "I don't know."

Kept looking anyways, and what came up during looking (at how the present feeling of "body" is created)
was sensations of slight discomfort. Thoughts came up like "I can't tell for sure", "I don't ...

Re: Ready to see the Self for what it is

Now - you write 'seems' a lot when you have looked into something, is there any doubt of what is direct experienced?

The doubt comes in afterwards, i think. I say "seems" because I'm always talking about a memory of what happened, so there's doubt whether what I thought happened is what actually ...

Re: Ready to see the Self for what it is

No problem!

What is it that creates the present feeling of a body?

There were a lot of thoughts in response to this, but I did my best to look through directly at the sensations.

It doesn't feel like sensations are created by anything, they're just there on their own. The sensation of 'being ...

Re: Ready to see the Self for what it is

what are sensations?

Without thoughts they seem hard to describe. They just are. With thoughts, I'd describe them like little pockets of resonating energy. I noticed that images pop up depending on where the sensation is assumed to be felt.

Are they in the body

The sensations being "in the ...

Re: Ready to see the Self for what it is

Look at eating, doing the dishes, going for a walk or anything else happening during the day. Can you find any 'I' doing anything? If yes, in what way? If no what then is happening?

Tried this with reading your post. Noticed first that reading was happening, the words were being heard in my head ...
