Re: Is Life a Dance?

Could you please do the finger exercise again and tell me what your direct experience is?

If I point to objects in front of me, in this case a tree, a table, a boat on a beach, there instant processing of the colors and shapes into concepts: tree, table, boat. If I reverse, there is nothing the ...

Re: Is Life a Dance?

I apologize for my quietness, I was on the road for three weeks. I did all the headless experiments some time ago and found them very fascinating. The first time I did the finger exercise I remember very clearly.

Apart from this, I would like to gauge if there are any expectations you hold from ...

Re: Is Life a Dance?

Where are you looking from? Feel the location. What does it feel like?

From a center point between my ears, behind my eyes. It doesn't really feel like much, but "I" am clearly sitting there, at that point, from where I experience the world, and the further away from this point I go, the more ...

Re: Is Life a Dance?

I have gone through what you wrote many times now, and I think you put this very succinctly: There is somehow a lot of clarity in understanding things on an intellectual level, but there is no feeling of confidence to accept this in reality. I can follow your statements very logically with my mind ...

Re: Is Life a Dance?

Could you describe how you see "control"? What is it really? And give some examples please?

I would see "control" as a concept describing certain structures in human life. It is two-part. There is a controlling part and a controlled part. The man controls his dog. The pilot controls the plane ...

Re: Is Life a Dance?

I am mostly feeling quite neutral these days. My life feels still similar to what I described in my last longer message. There is a lot of change happening, professionally and personally. I have re-designed some areas of my life: How I approach my relationships, how I view work, and how I approach ...

Re: Is Life a Dance?

Dear Ankita

I would like to pick up this thread again... if you're still around and willing to provide some guidance. I do apologize for not having written for such a long time.

Re: Is Life a Dance?

Hi Ankita

Your check-in is really appreciated. Things are good. Life flows, interestingly, if you watch this life here living from an outside perspective, one could say that it is full of struggles, challenges, and ups and downs. But somehow internally it doesn't feel that way. There is a certain ...

Re: Is Life a Dance?

So, by coincidence, I stumbled upon the headless experiment by Douglas Harding. Simple, yet fascinating... andere there really is nothing but stillness.

Re: Is Life a Dance?

Ankita, sorry to keep you waiting and thank you for your patience. Life is happening fast these days.

The fact that I haven't answered yet and it took me so long also tells me: There is no quick and unequivocal answer to this question at the moment. It seems very obvious that "I" is a construct ...

Re: Is Life a Dance?

Is it seen from the perspective of two windows (eyes) or is it like a windscreen view? Now zoom back in and try to find the thing that’s seeing. Is there seeing separate from what’s seen, or is there just what’s seen? Is there any awareness separate from experience or is there just experience ...

Re: Is Life a Dance?

So far, our exercises have pointed out that "objects", "body", "control", "past", "memory" -- all of these only exist in thought, and that thought is not all true or important in and of itself. Do you SEE this?

It feels true. I can't really unequivocally write here that I see it. Not sure, why ...

Re: Is Life a Dance?

I apologize for the long pause, Ankita. I have been inundated with other things and I didn't want to answer without really considering your pointing.

Where in this was thought needed?
Or, could this have happened without thought?
Now note: immediate reactions like "Ofcourse! To even type in ...

Re: Is Life a Dance?

Please write to me 4 sentences about a creature that is a fusion of any two animals... maybe a fish and a bird? What does it look like? What is the name you'd like to give it? Does it have a job? What does it sound like? Just type it down, and keep it silly :) [/color]
It looks like its head is ...
