Re: Who am I?

About the 'aha moment': I always emphasize that things are different for everyone, but in my assessment you may not get an 'aha moment' specifically about going through the gate. I think this because I think you've already realized the things that you would be expected to 'aha' about at the gate ...

Re: Who am I?

Oh dear... Sorry about the delay... My mistake missing your post.

Hi Steve,

No problem at all.

Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form?
Was there ever?

No there is no self, no entity here and there never was.

Explain in detail what the ...

Re: Who am I?

Thanks Steve. Yes I'm ready for the final questions. I feel that you have helped me a lot and I am very grateful. I also feel that you have given me the tools I need to progress.

Re: Who am I?

Can a mind be found in experience? That is, can anything be found other than thoughts arising?

No. The idea that the mind is an entity is only another thought. Only thoughts can be found.

Is there a self, or are there only thoughts about a self?
What can a thought do? Can a thought think? Does ...

Re: Who am I?

I understand that when I ask a question it can be difficult to find the time to give it justice, but if you could post more frequently - even if you have nothing to say - it would help me keep your focus on profitable things.

I apologize Steve, you are correct. I will try to post more frequently ...

Re: Who am I?

Notice and accept the story, and let it be. Are the sensations painful? Can you accept them? Is the story real or is it a story about what's real? Can the story be accepted as not real, yet as the way life manifests in its richness?

Hi Steve,

I know this sounds silly but i think i have this idea ...

Re: Who am I?

Hi Steve,

Something that happened to me last weekend that i forgot to mention in my last reply: This preceded the feelings i was having of my heart filling up. I was sitting down at the computer and decided to watch a music video. I really like this song and the video and i hadn't watched it in a ...

Re: Who am I?

A real hallmark of this shift is a dropping away of the seeking impulse, but it doesn't necessarily happen straight away. So have you noticed a reduction in seeking / a greater acceptance of life as it is right now (which is the same thing)?

Yes and i think i changed my idea of what seeking is ...

Re: Who am I?

Hi Steve,

I spent the last few days looking very closely at my experience. For the most part, things were pretty much as they have been of late. Sometimes there felt a deepening of 'everything happening by itself'. A couple of times, it got very frustrating because it seems like an impossible task ...

Re: Who am I?

Is there a gap between experienced and experiencer?
Is there an experiencer, a centre to which life happens? What can be found?

Hi Steve,
when i look for an experiencer, i cannot find one. I can only find the experience. There is only thoughts, sensations, hearing, seeing, tasting and smelling. I ...

Re: Who am I?

Or, can we say you've noticed that it doesn't always feel like there is a doer?

This was more accurate.

I was washing the dishes earlier and i saw that there was no me doing it. There couldn't be. There were so many movements involved and they were happening so quickly. There couldn't be someone ...

Re: Who am I?

I haven't replied much the last couple of days because i just didn't feel like i had anything to say or anything to add to the discussion. But i guess i should just write about my experiences if it doesn't seem like there is anything new happening.

There's wide variation in what people experience ...

Re: Who am I?

I should add that there were times today when it felt like there was a deeper seeing that i've not experienced before. It just felt different. Longer periods of seeing that everything was just happening without a controller. I also had a strange nights sleep last night with weird dreams and felt ill ...

Re: Who am I?

So where are you at?
It is clear that there's no owner, doer, controller or decider - that the "who" that you thought was in there is not in there?
Is it clear that ALL thought content is unreal?
Where are your areas of doubt?

I really don't know where my areas of doubt are. Everything we've ...

Re: Who am I?

Can you see a thinker of thoughts, or are there only thoughts about such a person?

There is nobody 'doing' thoughts (thinking). The reason i phrased it like that is because i can see that there is no one controlling thoughts but sometimes it seems like there is someone (something?) witnessing ...
