Re: Staying awake

HI Ghata,

Lol. I have to smile. This is like the riddle of sphinx.

1.What is it exactly that can control reactions to thoughts and emotions as they arise?

Nothing. like the "I" there is no "thing" to control reactions as they arise. Only thoughts to label and respond to them.

2. What can ...

Re: Staying awake

Hi Ghata,

Has there ever been an I or a self as a separate entity in any form or shape?

No. There has never been a separate entity in any shape or form. If there was such a thing, it would negate there being one now - how could it be, and then not be? The fiction is created as a thought form of ...

Re: Staying awake

Hi Ghata,

Is there a separate entity 'self', 'me' 'I', at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form? Was there ever?

No – there is no separate entity.

2) Explain in detail what the illusion of separate self is, when it starts and how it works from your own experience. Describe it fully as you ...

Re: Staying awake

HI Ghata,

I can quite happily say that ME AS A SEPARATE ENTITY IS AN ILLUSION. Yes.

Doubts, no. Not sure what it means, but it does make things less personal. Just feels less like anything is about me.

Re: Staying awake

HI Ghata,

Ok, i understand what you are asking. My confusion is that when you say first hand experience, i mostly relate to the visual and start from there.

Closing my eyes makes the questions seem strange because there is no male or sexuality, there isn't even a clear way to label them. I don't ...

Re: Staying awake

HI Ghata,

for your second question. What does present evidence mean? My answer currently would be male, because my eyes tell me that i am. And my hands concur that my body is male in the evidence of having male genitalia. Take away sight and then the concept of male is a lot more "fluid". But i am ...

Re: Staying awake

HI Ghata,

Can it be known how tall the body is?
Does the body have a weight or volume?

In the actual experience does the body have a shape or a form?
Is there a boundary between the body and the clothing?
Is there a boundary between the body and the chair?

Is there an inside or an outside? If ...

Re: Staying awake

The idea and concept of "I" is not real. 100% certain of that. But what is useful to differentiate that you as Ghata or me as Cyber occupy different bodies, and the collection of thoughts and feelings are different? Is the concept of a "you" and "me" necessary to show that there are separate ...

Re: Staying awake

HI Ghata,

LOL. No. And how amusing that actually when pain arrives its quite easy to see that most of it resides in thoughts. I do suspect that I suffer from an anxiety disorder. I notice without exercise the thoughts and feelings can simply overwhelm me. To concentrate on doing things, not ...

Re: Staying awake

HI Ghata,

Got sick, work stuff not working out, and just depressed. So, apologies, i just forget to come here and by the end of the day I feel like its all a bit much. I am sure that thats when one needs to do this the most, but its a big struggle for me at the moment. I haven't done anything, just ...

Re: Staying awake

Hi Ghata,

Life has been very hectic, i am trying to get work and my days are consumed with writing CV's and sending them out, then meeting after meeting.

All this seems very far away, which i know is crazy. Its the time to be most aware and centred, but c'est la vie.

What we are both waiting for ...
