I just watched a video from Ilona on youtube. From another Liberation Unleashed post. It made me realize/recognize:
When I look, things/objects/sensations that come up and then go away, are not me ... I should be able to always find who I really am, if I look. Who/what is always there? The empty expansiveness and peace. Even when I have pain & suffering, there are gaps. If there are gaps, that means the pain & suffering is not me.
Is this correct? Any thoughts.

Sync into Awareness, and find anything showing up that comes and goes. This is not me. Look in Awareness for what is there and is always staying the same. I describe it as emptyness and peace. Find what stays the same and sync (feel) into it.
For me there is a mild buzzing body sensation in the heart (body) area that expands into my whole body. It sort of buzzes. Is that what I'm looking for? Sometimes this shows up in meditation.

One last thing to share:
On bad days, where I have a strong sense of ego or suffering, I am not able to sync into that peace/expansiveness.
It's very hard to get there.

Okay, I am going to do this exercise. I am going to be honest and share exactly what is showing up, even when the mind/intellect says it knows the answer. Thoughts with content 'I need to answer this correctly.' 'I know this.' 'I've read this before.' 'I need to answer this correctly for Stacy'. My intention is to focus on direct experience, and what is known and be found, and share that, even if what is shared is not what mind/intellect knows/differs from.Time Exercise - There is a general assumption that there is linear time that started (if started at all) somewhere very far in the past and advances to the distant future. The present moment (now) is considered to be a very small fragment of time, or an event that is moving forward on a linear line, coming from the past and advancing to the future.
Thoughts with content 'No, time does not exist in direct experience'. However, when I sink into direct experience and look, content shows up, content changes, content comes and goes, there is a small perceived understanding that content changed. There is a perceived understanding that something changed in awareness. There is no 'now', just a small perceived understanding that something changed.But is there an experience of the ’now’ moving along the line of time?

I find that the mind is attempting to take control and answers these questions intellectually. In each of these situations, I went to direct experience and tried to answer it from that standpoint. I shared what thoughts were showing up, to give context, so you know what is going on in actual/direct and false experience for me. However, I am trying to differentiate thoughts from direct experience.

That is what our first pointers were about. Report what you see, hear, feel. taste & smell. There isn't much of that here.

Just to share, just about over the cold/migraine.
Last couple of days have been challenging. Lots of frustration showing up. Lots of mental activity.
Just doing my best to sit with everything showing up, but its hard.

Yes. Good idea.Do you want to look directly at that?
Frustration is a well-known sensation that shows up in awareness, that is labelled 'frustration' by thought.What is "frustration?"
However, the last couple of days, in experience, when the sensation showed up, powerful thoughts of 'not feeling well', 'this sucks', 'I always get sick after going to the gym', 'give me a break', and thus the thinking/emotional spiral loop started.
Because I was not feeling well (other sensations showing up), the "I always get sick ..." thought came out, and I definitely got sucked into thoughts/emotion. I felt like I had less self-control, because I felt really bad.
It was very tough, and I completely lost being mindful and being able to distance myself from thoughts and not being attached to them.
