LU is focused guiding for seeing there is no real, inherent 'self' - what do you understand by this?
The mind experiences a stream of sensations in the various sense fields, including thoughts. It overlays a conceptual framework on this stream in the form of images and stories. One of these stories is that there is a seperate and real agent called "I" which navigates and controls aspects of this stream.
What are you looking for at LU?
A guide to help question my beliefs and assumptions. A community of people so that I can feel that I am not working alone in this. Someone that can help me see where there is further work or questioning to be done.
What do you expect from a guided conversation?
Someone to have a back-n-forth with to help me clear up some sticky points, such as identification re stories around strong emotions, like fear. Someone that has experience in how to surrender or accept the emotional aspects of awakening.
What is your experience in terms of spiritual practices, seeking and inquiry?
7 years meditation
Daily inquiry
On a scale from 1 to 10, how willing are you to question any currently held beliefs about 'self? 11
