LU is focused guiding for seeing there is no real, inherent 'self' - what do you understand by this?

That we aren’t our thoughts feelings sensations. They control us if but if we look into them and focus on them they can melt away and we can be left without any of these things and an ability to truly be present.

What are you looking for at LU?

To lose my sense of self so that Im not mind identified anymore. I don’t want to be distracted by thoughts that aren’t the truth. To be more present and experience all the moments of life without the distractions of thoughts.

What do you expect from a guided conversation?

To get some clarity, different perspectives and advice on the process. I would like clarity on whether what I doing to become liberated is the most successful approach. It would be good to have someone to look at my situation and how I’m doing it from a different perspective and what they can add to help lead to losing my sense of self. Just general advice will be really helpful because I have questions that I could do with answers to as they come up on this journey.

What is your experience in terms of spiritual practices, seeking and inquiry?

I’ve been meditating for about the last 10 years and done different methods to help with my anxiety. I found Angelo Dillulo’s book Awake and it was the first time I’d really heard about awakening/liberation and I was fascinated and have been trying a one pointedness, looking into beliefs and self enquiry ever since.

On a scale from 1 to 10, how willing are you to question any currently held beliefs about 'self? 9

and allow all should and shouldn't to let go...
all stories...let go... for 1 min even

Notice:
Drop from thoughts - in the body - are you this experience called body?
Is there body or just experience?
are you the experience called sky and wether?

and simply notice that you are here but are you here as experience (of the body and nature) ?
Are you experience at all?

This is the shift.

But when I look one pointed and ignore the thoughts and feelings there is still a self there following what I’m doing even as I write I go to it to think about what to say. Is it an illusion?

We are looking that there is nothing which belongs to the imagined self.
Notice the sky - this experience called sky is personal event?
Thoughts are here but are they personal event?
Thoughts about me, persona are not personal event, exactly like the sky

Notice now the experience called "self" - is there something more then worry, "I should do" I shouldn't do"...notice that this is not personal event also - all these here are, God's attributes and no persona, check all things one by one and notice that whatever is found is only WHAT is found and nothing is personal event?
There is no persona which deserve to own life experience, thoughts, emotions...this is Divine's gift and this is not a gift for a persona :)
it is too precious a gift to be given to something as insignificant as a person.

And freedom is to find that everything is taken care of and behind thought's protection ...what is there? :)
To whom worry belongs to?
Is there persona which can take care about something? :)

Thanks for this Lubo, I’m going to sit with these words today.

Hi Lubo, having sat with your words and also reading some of the Gateless Gatecrashers a couple of things have become a bit clearer. There is a fear of totally letting go if the self in me.
Also do I need to stop labelling things with my mind I mean by this when looking at something I have the mind describe it? This is also the same with beliefs they seem to be everywhere in me hows the best way to deal with them.
