LU is focused guiding for seeing there is no real, inherent 'self' - what do you understand by this? The separate self is based on past conditioning via stories, labels, beliefs, memories and does not exist. Only one's direct experience based in the present moment is true. This happens through our senses: hearing, seeing, tasting, touching, smelling, and from our feelings and thoughts. Although our thoughts are "real" their content may not be.
What are you looking for at LU? To connect with a guide who can support my process of remaining grounded in my direct experience. Since the path of non-duality is still relatively new for me, I am studying LU's quotes, videos, and literature to remain clear in releasing the "mythical me" and sense of separation.
What do you expect from a guided conversation? Consistent reminders of what is "real" versus what is "unreal." I believe a guide can help me collapse the sense of separation between the "seeker" and what is "seen", between "subject" and "object" and resolve the sense of duality.
What is your experience in terms of spiritual practices, seeking and inquiry? I have been a seeker for many years and my commitment to awakening is now the core focus of my life. My path was A Course in Miracles for 15 years and more currently, Advaita Vedanta. I am attending non-dual online retreats, watching non-dual teachers daily, and meditate daily. I practice self-inquiry and follow the teachings of Ramana Maharshi, Nisargadatta Maharaj, Rupert Spira, and Swami Atmananda.
On a scale from 1 to 10, how willing are you to question any currently held beliefs about 'self? 10
