I have doubts that one can go from living whole life with a me running it, or at least believing that a me was running it, to seeing that this cannot be true and yet feel no fundamental change.

As far as where I am at:
there is a building of anxiety, doubt, commitment, intensity, frustration all at the same time. Other than whats required that gets put in front of me this is the only thing that matters and yet when it is viewed like any other worldly thing to be achieved it is very frustrating to know there is nothing to do to accomplish it since it is not accomplished, it happens in its own time and there is no one to do it. Feel stuck between 2 worlds

Let's clear your doubts.
Seeing that there is no 'me' that runs 'my' life is not the same as believing. Once it is seen, it can not be unseen. Separate entity self is a fantasy same like Easter bunny.

Let's say you are a kid and as all kids you believe in Easter bunny or tooth fairy and one day you are told that is not real. Is there a fundamental change? What happened to the bunny? Was there a bunny in the first place in real life?
So you grew up and are not a kid anymore, but still there is a belief on fantasy going on.

So welcome doubt. Doubt all you know, see if it's possible that all your life you have believed in imaginary self.
What comes up, when you allow a thought that there really no you?
Look around, can you see an Easter bunny? Can you see 'me'?
Can I be found anywhere? The greater the doubt the greater the awakening- some zen proverb says that. So let that doubt be here and look, what is behind it? Can you spot what is hiding behind doubt?

I saw thru this today with Mircea, doubt is just thought trying to be self. It has been coming up once in a while today but it is not a me, just thoughts. Thank you all so much. Who are you by the way, your name does not show, only admin.

The name is Ilona. ;)

Ok, good!!
Answer these questions now in full.
1) Is there a you, at all, anywhere, in any way, shape or form?

2) Explain in detail what the self is and how it works.

3) How does it feel to be liberated?

4) how would you describe it to somebody who has never heard about no you.
