Re: Seeking a seeker
Hello and Welcome!
By what name do you prefer to be called?...You know, to make this a more "personal" conversation...
Now I do have one little rule...That when I ask you questions, please answer when ready, with complete honesty, precisely, and what you "feel" is 100% true.... (Not believe. Beliefs and opinions have no place here. )
This process is ultimately for your benefit in the end, your focus and commitment to this, is key in it's completion.
One more important thing to ask is, that whatever teachings, beliefs or spiritual practices, you have acquired along your journey till now; Please put them aside until this process is over. They are of NO use here...You can revisit them later if you wish...Thank You!
Okay first question...
What expectations do you have from becoming Enlightened?
And next before I go is...
What comes up when I say..."There is no separate entity "Self" in real life at all??

The illusion isn't destroyed...Just seen for what it 'Is'

Hello, my name is Jason
"What expectations do you have from becoming Enlightened?"
To see the world for what it truely is, to not be a "slave" of the egoic mind.
"There is no separate entity "Self" in real life at all??"
That the universe is a being in its whole, what separates this wholeness is naming and labeling situations as good/bad.

Hello Jason...
Enlightenment, as a word I feel has to much of a reputation attached to the name...Western spirituality seems to equate Enlightenment with self- perfection...so yes your expectations are on track...
Okay, now we're going to address how thoughts and feelings coincide within the body and how the body will help guide you to finding and seeing the "Self" as it really is...
The mind, in addition to being an incredible processing and storage device, is also a labeling machine that labels experience as soon as perception happens.
Here's how it occurs...
Thought triggers feeling, feeling gets labeled---New trigger---Feeling gets more intense ---More labels--->Vicious feedback loop...
This is what go's on endlessly when " I " is at the centre...
Now I want you to think of a uncomfortable thought...(The more negative the better.) Pick a couple, (You know those reoccurring ones that really bug you.)
Do you feel how the body reacts when these thoughts are revisited??
Now, let's take this a step further...When you feel the body react, bring this thought up close, look...(with "laser focus") deep inside and behind this thought...
What do you see??

Re: Seeking a seeker
I do not believe perfection exists nor is it something i can aquire by doing something, its just another label.
Maybe i havent understood what you mean by self-perfection.
Went through the process of observing the Thought/Feeling/Thought cycle and i noticed that whenever it was labeled as negative, there was something telling me "There are no negative thoughts, just thoughts" and the feeling wouldnt pop up, although i dont think i looked deep inside and behind it.
Maybe i havent understood what you mean by self-perfection.

Hey Jason...
Anger, frustration, sadness, depression, impatients, anxiety etc...
As you feel the body react, trace it back to the thought connected to it... Bring it up close...
What's behind it?...What's driving it??
I added the self perfection quote to address how the word Enlightenment has taken on such a metaphysical or even unearthly perfection about it...I perfer to see "it" as awakening but it's called by many names...I do not believe perfection exists nor is it something i can aquire by doing something, its just another label.

It's that physical connection that we are going to focus on and practice; Remember the body doesn't lie...When the body feels threatened it will react to protect itself...Same as if someone was to threaten to "hit" you and the reflex that follows to protect the body.... You'll notice the same reaction or "connection" with other negative thoughts / feelings like...Went through the process of observing the Thought/Feeling/Thought cycle and i noticed that whenever it was labeled as negative, there was something telling me "There are no negative thoughts, just thoughts" and the feeling wouldnt pop up, although i dont think i looked deep inside and behind it.

Re: Seeking a seeker
I have avoided answering. I have a tendency of walking away from challenging situations.
I apologize for this.
The question you presented me with makes me feel uncomfortable whenever i try to focus on the emergence of a feeling or thought and trace it back to its source. I witness myself blocking, again and again. Something or nothing is holding me back from experiencing. I try harder while mentally knowing that trying to experience is the opposite of being.
I wish to speak more openly towards you and i will do so from now on.

Hello Jason...
I'm getting the impression that there's a bit of fear in the quote below...
When you look, just let it be here... Find out where in the body it is being felt, then bring it closer, invite it to share in it's wisdom...It's fine to just let it be...Respect it...Bow to it...Then look what's behind the fear.
What's behind all these thoughts?
What's controlling these thoughts??

Fear itself is not to be feared, It's a Mechanism. Working perfectly as a security system. It's protecting something from being found out...The question you presented me with makes me feel uncomfortable whenever i try to focus on the emergence of a feeling or thought and trace it back to its source. I witness myself blocking, again and again.

Yes, in fact "nothing" is holding you back...Remember to take note of how your body reacts, same go's with the "fight or flight" or "avoidance" feelings. (If you're feeling ANY negative feelings "The Self" is connected.) Relax and try not to over think this. Without any distractions try again to look..Something or nothing is holding me back from experiencing.I try harder while mentally knowing that trying to experience is the opposite of being.
