LU is focused guiding for seeing there is no real, inherent 'self' - what do you understand by this?
I is a concept, a story which is supported by a strong belief in its existence. Belief is another concept telling that this thought is a right thought. I can’t be located within the body or as a command center that coordinates actions. I- view is a distorted view based on assumption of a center and it is another concept not supported by experience
What are you looking for at LU?
I hope to find help to see the illusion as an illusion and not part of reality. I need help to learn to directly look rather than to think about what i am looking at. I have a good conceptual understanding of the illusion, however this doesn't help me to make the next step and just see the reality directly. I cant find myself what is the effort (or absence of effort) that i need to make to provoke this shift in perception. I read the book and the pointers, which explain well the nature of the illusion, but this doesn't lead to a fresh look to things. I might be too much obsessed with the thoughts to see them all as just thoughts. I understand that LU helped many people of different characters and mindset to make the step toward direct looking and i want to try my chance for the same.
What do you expect from a guided conversation?
I hope that a conversation with a person with direct looking experience will help me to find a stock of thoughts which keeps me sleeping and to see through these thoughts. I hope that the guide will point out to my specific illusions and will help me to disseminate them. Frankly speaking, i do not understand how this shift happens and i don’t know what exactly i should ask for. I hope to meet a person who knows this better than me and will guide me through the process. I promise to obey and explore diligently.
What is your experience in terms of spiritual practices, seeking and inquiry?
Vipassana, annual 10 days courses since 2014. Daily sitting
Direct seeing courses
On a scale from 1 to 10, how willing are you to question any currently held beliefs about 'self?
