LU is focused guiding for seeing there is no real, inherent 'self' - what do you understand by this?
Self / I / Me are names given to a sense of presence that comes and goes but erroneously believed to be continuous and solid.
What are you looking for at LU?
Freedom. More specifically: turning 'my' intellectual understanding and acceptance of the non-existence of a 'self' into real and liberating insight.
The promise of a 'Liberation Unleashed' sounds exactly what I've been looking for since decades ...
What do you expect from a guided conversation?
Personal guidance in where and what to look for; someone who can point out my blind spots in my looking for a 'self' and who can nudge me back on track when I drift off and loose focus in my inquiry about what is real and what is fantasy about 'me'.
What is your experience in terms of spiritual practices, seeking and inquiry?
I'm 65, began my search driven by a sense of anxiety and meaninglessness in my late teens with Transcendental Meditation, then years of Zen practice and Gurdjieff work and later involvement in contemporary non-duality teachings and teachers, most recently Greg Goode and Rupert Spira. There were many insights and deep meditative states along the way but none of them seemed to "stick" and give me the sense that the search was over, once and for all.
On a scale from 1 to 10, how willing are you to question any currently held beliefs about 'self?
