Hi all,

Interesting site here.

Anyways, about me. I started my spiritual search in 1992. I have read hundreds of books on all sorts of spiritual topics (funny enough, nothing about nonduality until after awakening). By about 2004, I had quit reading and the spiritual search...as everything was a re-hash of what I already had heard before. Sometimes I would read a book or watch a video if someone kept popping up. In 2005, I keep hearing about Eckhart Tolle. In November of 2005, I was sitting in my living room watching Eckhart's video, "The Flowering of Human Consciousness." I was sick of reading, and wanted something I could watch and be over with in a couple hours.

As the video progressed, I kept hearing terms I have heard many times and thought I was doing...for example being present. I thought I was. Anyway, Eckhart did an exercise of feeling the body and really experiencing the present. That was my problem...I thought about being present without actually being present. So for the first time, I was truly present. The mind stopped...incredibly silent and still. And then it happened...Realization, Enlightenment, Liberation, Moksha...whatever term you want to call it by. Everything came into focus (so to speak) and there was a seeing of what is as it is. The Self. The illusion was recognized as an illusion. The illusion has not be problematic since. No sufferng, no seeking, no attachment, no anxiety, no fear, no desires, etc. The world became a place of play - no work, no effort, no struggle, etc. Lasting peace and contentment.

Since then, I have read a few books on non-duality (it helps learning some terms and descriptions when trying to explain it). My favorite is Ramana Maharshi...he says it so simply.

If you want to hear some of the stuff I talk about, I would suggest checking out my YouTube channel. I don't post often (once a year maybe), but there are four videos - http://www.youtube.com/user/eputkonen?feature=mhee. I am one of those who uses the term "Enlightenment"...in particular because it is so charged a word - to release some of the charge and get people familar hearing the term again. Enlightenment is nothing special...as long as it is held as special (good or bad) - that becomes an obstacle.

I guess that is an introduction. If you have any questions, please ask away.

Do you mean this? - "Matt Openspace - Eric, thank you so much for your answers. May we put your name on our list of confirmed liberated people?"
