LU is focused guiding for seeing there is no real, inherent 'self' - what do you understand by this?
Self is the ego that claims credit for everything that naturally enfolds. Form meets the sense door, sensation is created, action is taken and then the Self takes credit-- and reality diverges from truth, suffering is created.
What are you looking for at LU?
I believe I have seen through the "self" through a combination of Vipassana retreats, awareness of the scaffolding of the fetters, and a couple of big "switches"-- though there is still is clinging and aversion for sure 4 and 5 fetters.
I don't need to know, but would desire to know if I have truly seen through the inital self? It's hard to know
What do you expect from a guided conversation?
I expect a dialogue like in the Gateless Gatecrashers book. I need 200 characters minimum, so I'm gonna write a poem: a guided conversation. Who is the one that guides? Who can have a sense of humor if nobody is there? O:
What is your experience in terms of spiritual practices, seeking and inquiry?
Vipassana retreat, 10 fetters w/ Kevin Schleneck online
On a scale from 1 to 10, how willing are you to question any currently held beliefs about 'self?
