shared pillars and syncretism

LU is focused guiding for seeing there is no real, inherent 'self' - what do you understand by this? I suppose that there exists only one absolute Self, and anything that is, exists within this One’s field, which is utterly complete. Any properties of a ‘self’ that are identified by distinguishing qualities and separateness from the Self is a sort of fiction and has a quality of untruth, but maybe not without purpose. Maybe the Absolute is playful
What are you looking for at LU? I want to actually live and exist in the world as a being who never feels a disconnect from oneness. I want to experience duality as a lucid dream, and through this, be fearless, and I feel it would be an incomparably fulfilling thing if I got to a level of awareness where I could help other incarnated beings wake up as well, so to speak. I also want to shed any programming and automatic responses, and anything that has arisen and gotten wired in due to misidentification with a limited self. This sort of misidentification and its consequences continues to happen, and I want to be done with it all. I want to wake up to reality and to still play about in it, enjoying the diversity in unity.
What do you expect from a guided conversation? I am honestly not sure. I would hope to be understood but I’m not so good at expressing myself effectively. More than that, I would like someone who sees me very deeply, much deeper than I see myself ideally, and who will be very honest with me, even if it is going to be painful. With that said, I would hope for a conversation partner who would have a deft hand at delivering hard truths in such a way that they pierce my ego very cleanly and deeply right away, like a well-made scalpel, where the sting of even a deep cut is minimized, but in any case, no tissue is too tough for its sharpness.
What is your experience in terms of spiritual practices, seeking and inquiry? I have been seeking earnestly for about four years, and before that since 11 or 12, I was quite atheistic, and sometimes very spiritedly so. I come from a very spiritual and mystical family, and recently have found my way back to some of those trails, but I find the old lineages and gurus still too limited, although that is an ignorant perception of a very limited ego-mind. I seek to find a path that doesn’t require so many initiations and secrets, and is instead a path of grace to Truth that can be accessed and attained by all genuine seekers. This orgy of secret knowledge I see even among very loving and gracious mystical families, I wish to see come to an end, for the faster uplifting of the collective consciousness. So I am seeking such a path, one of infinite grace that goes beyond perhaps cause and effect even, or whatever karma is.
On a scale from 1 to 10, how willing are you to question any currently held beliefs about 'self?
