LU is focused guiding for seeing there is no real, inherent 'self' - what do you understand by this?
No-self, unbound awareness, not the cluster of crystallized reflective thoughts most identify as” themselves”, an illusion, a psychological response to a traumatic happening in early childhood that crystallizes over “time”,
Reinforced by “others”, in fact completely unbound awareness, non-separate, intimate, direct.
What are you looking for at LU?
Relief from suffering through identification with “A”, I’m guessing, clairification. Feel like in between worlds. Dropped so much but seemsl subconscious binding. Want t be pushed off ledge? “A” is clever. He must figure this ou(t?).
What do you expect from a guided conversation?
Nothing really, since coming down from shift, kensho(?) (21/2 years ago)all expectations worldly and not. the seeking ramped up because of realization of actual possibility of noself, then found what seeking was through seeking. Burned out, on seeking, looked everywhere expectations are long gone. From seeking and from conventional world. Can’t go back must go through it seems.
What is your experience in terms of spiritual practices, seeking and inquiry?
Many years of sitting practice, through, shamatha, vipassana, later combined both, etc., drawn to Tibetan, shambhala. Read all the usual suspects east and wes of all stripes. Strangely I do not recall hearing about non duality in so many words until I had a so called “shift”, that’s when started seeking, in a way, but dropped all the old identification w spiritual practices and schools of thought.i was drawn to Tibetan and shambhala mostly. Respect for zen Now just sit and gaze at “nothing” most of the time. Lost interest in fiction of all types. Music w words even without mostly , social groups, “clubs”, tribes…
On a scale from 1 to 10, how willing are you to question any currently held beliefs about 'self?
