Alright.
Have you read Gateless Gatecrashers? Read to notice worn there's a shift. Those are good examples 9f how it FEELS to see.
Usually truth feelings of expansion, openness. lightness. Look for that to happen for you.
Don't do it like the first pointer. That won't help.
You sound upset & frustrated. Stop until that passes & you can LOOK in a relaxed way with fresh eyes again.
You've only been here a few weeks. Relax!
Loving,

Yes, will read again and feel rather than just read.

Senses open and looking.

Thank you for the advice.

The label of frustration gets tagged to a lot of feelings, thankfully the label,of upset hasn't stuck to anything.
A warm bath always helps "James" relax. Shall indulge.

The truth of things -
Direct experience may well be the nearest to truth that can be experienced, but gaining an understanding of what that actually means is elusive.
Whatever "James" is or isn't, is experiencing confusion or perhaps better put as no cohesion around DE.
The DEs are sensed, then what to do with them. There are responses that happen and thoughts appear.
"Looking" feels like staring into the endless unknown.

"Understanding is the booby prize."
You're confused because you're trying to understand the unknowable. We have no idea how this all arises. It's a mystery. Let it be a mystery!
Be with all of that.
In this Mystery. is any separate "James" found?
How does it FEEL?
Loving,
Good! It IS endless & unknown! Allow that to just be."Looking" feels like staring into the endless unknown.

Re: Feet first (or should it be head first?)
Stacy,
You were missed yesterday, glad you're still around.
With all these pointers, the instruction is given and the question asked 'how does it feel?'.
Within this mystery, no separate "James" can be found, but the feeling remains that there is a separate "James" and it's the inability to find him that causes confusion and frustration. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
As mentioned there are feelings of confusion and frustration. There are also feelings of inadequacy and guilt in not being able to follow your pointers to their conclusion of liberation.
Coming back to the mystery of a separate James, it feels vague, nebulous, like a very fine mist that may or may not be visible.
And feelings of concern about whether this mind/body can obtain/welcome (what would be the right word?) a sense of no-self.
Your time and efforts are greatly appreciated.

Okay,
what are you afraid of?
I had a lot of doctor appointments this week. One of them was from a sleep study which says that I'm not breathing fully about 30% of the night. Whoopie!

Honestly, all you're sending is mostly stories, content of thought, lies, not "real. "
Send only the Direct Experience of any supposed "self"
You can't. You'll be sending a blank page!

Re: Feet first (or should it be head first?)
what are you afraid of?
In no specific order -
Losing my wife
Lack of money
Physical violence
Getting physically stuck in a narrow pitch black tunnel
Certain people
Honestly, all you're sending is mostly stories, content of thought, lies, not "real. "
It's so hard to find what's real.

No. It's the simplest thing on Earth, as you will see. It's right in front of you worn you ignore thought's stories. It's so hard to find what's real.
Just LOOK without stories.
Look at each of those fears with Ilona's video as a guide.

Re: Feet first (or should it be head first?)
Look at each of those fears with Ilona's video as a guide.
Held each fear in mind and listened to the video.
Asked the questions of fear, no replies.
The sensations associated with the fears did lessen.
Tried to look behind the fears, (not sure how to do that but tried), found nothing.
Unsure as to whether there was nothing to see or an inability to see.
