Liang can you put all books down and stop reading for this next week. You have been reading all your life but it has not brought you the direct experience you have been looking for. I'm not interested in what you read in books, this is a process of looking and not thinking, You have a choice look or think?
Do you want to look or think?

is there a self moving
Is there a self walking
is there a self eating
is there a self driving
is there a self dressing
is there a who, living your life
or are there just thoughts about everything
is there something real besides a thought , that owns and directs a body.

Hi,
is there a self moving
Is there a self walking
is there a self eating
is there a self driving
is there a self dressing
is there a who, living your life
or are there just thoughts about everything
is there something real besides a thought , that owns and directs a body.
There is nothing that can be seen that is called "self" that direct everyday body activities. There is a "consciousness" that owns and direct this body. What is this "consciousness', I cannot describe in words. It is definitely there. When I concentrate to look inward to this "consciousness", there is a calm and peace inside. When I try to see it, it cannot be seen. Not sure how to put it, I know it is there but cannot see it.

There is a possibility I don't know "how" to see it. I will try if I go into deep meditation to see whether I can actually see it.

Thanks for the guidance,
Liang

please - move and tell me what happens
please - walk and tell me what happens
please - eat and tell me what happens
please - drive and tell me what happens
please - dress and tell me what happens
thank you - I want to know what you directly experience - and not what you directly think - thank you
with kindness

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply, been trying, encounter some difficulties.
please - move and tell me what happens
please - walk and tell me what happens
please - eat and tell me what happens
please - drive and tell me what happens
please - dress and tell me what happens
As I go along my daily activities, I find myself try to tell a story. As I walk, I look and cannot see anyone, I find myself telling myself there is nobody there, so there is no self. I am a bit confuse, there is someone telling the story that there is no self. If there is no self, then there should not have a story. Then I should keep quiet. Also there should not be a person reply to you also.

I am trying to see that even if the person that see that there is no self should not be there.

Am I in the right path?

Thanks for the guidance,
Liang

Hi Detox,

First time I finally manage to stop thinking for a while. Finally understand what stop thinking is. And what is actually really surrender. And now can feel the stillness. Amid the life that is busy with activities and a lot of things in life that seek your attention, be able to keep still amid all the chaos, feels very good.

Thanks for the help.
Liang

I am willing to keep on guiding you on condition that you recommit to the agreement This means sticking to it and not deciding to take time out when you feel like it. I am happy to continue guiding you if you stick to the agreement below. With kindness

1. You agree to post at least once a day.
2. In general, the guide will ask the questions for you to respond to
3. Responses require your utmost honesty
4. Responses are best from direct experience (felt senses and observed thoughts). Longwinded
analytical and philosophical answers are best avoided and may even hinder progress.
5. Put aside all other teachings, philosophies, books and such for the remainder of this investigation.
Really put all your effort and attention in to seeing this reality, as it is. If you have a daily and
essential meditation practice, it is fine to continue that.

I look forward to hearing from you - with kindness
