Are they assembly of parts or just sensations and colors ?
Are those parts "yours" ?

As you answer last body questions let's look to the idea of time,

There is a general assumption that there is linear time that started (if started at all) somewhere very far in the past and advances to the distant future. The present moment (now) is considered to be a very small fragment of time, or an event that is moving forward on a linear line, coming from the past and advancing to the future.

But is there an experience of the ’now’ moving along the line of time?
Any experience of one ‘moment’ giving way to the next?
Is there any actual or direct experience of one event following another?

How fast is the ‘present moment’ actually moving? Just look at 'this moment', can you find a point where it began? How long does the ‘now’ last? Where does the ‘now’ start, and where does it end?
When does the ‘now’ exactly become the 'past'? What is the ‘past’ in actual experience?
So is there actual experience of ‘time’ or there are thoughts about ‘time’?

This is a tough one. Yes it is sensations (touch) and colors (sight) and smell and taste, etc. But at the same time, my body parts, such as hands and legs make up what we ordinarily call a body. Is that just another concept?
My guess is that the various parts aren't mine, since there is no "me", no owner of the body, but that I identify with the body as who I am, the mind and personality, thoughts, and so on.

But is there an experience of the ’now’ moving along the line of time? I'd say no. It's more like awareness shifting from one experience to the next.
Any experience of one ‘moment’ giving way to the next? Not either. It feels that way though.
Is there any actual or direct experience of one event following another? No there is no beginning or no end just thoughts about time superimposed on eternity to make it more functional for us to follow events and fit in society.

How fast is the ‘present moment’ actually moving? Just look at 'this moment', can you find a point where it began? How long does the ‘now’ last? Where does the ‘now’ start, and where does it end? That what is meant by the expression "timeless moment"?
When does the ‘now’ exactly become the 'past'? What is the ‘past’ in actual experience? The past becomes the past as we call it a memory of something that happened and we recall it in the mind. The past is always a thought about the past happening in the present moment. So it is always the present moment, whatever that is. Same thing about the future, come to think of it. It's a thought about what might happen eventually but it takes place in the present. It's always the present anyway.
So is there actual experience of ‘time’ or there are thoughts about ‘time’? there are only thoughts about time.
This is all very different than the way I usually refer to everything. Does one ever get used to seeing things this way? I seem to get small flashes at a time, but it's almost too mindboggling for my mind...

Guess ? Dont guess Just Look! :)
Are you in that body ?
Are you in appearing thoughts ?
Are you the mind ?
Where is this "i" ?
Does it really exist ? is it somewhere ?

Ok. Back to direct experience.
No I cannot see the me in the body or in the process of thoughts, as thoughts produce indirect experiences, which cannot be real.
Am I the mind? No I can’t directly find the I in the mind through sight, sound, thoughts, etc. Again, I can only have thoughts about the mind (the mind can only produce thoughts) which aren’t direct experience either.
There’s something seeing all which appears, though...

Very good looking.
Yes we can say there is the experience.
Ok. Back to direct experience.
Sure..Direct Experience (DE) refers to your experience right now, without labels and thought stories.
Thought layers concepts over direct experience. A thought (concept, idea, label) is never the actual. Some thoughts point to the actual, and some point to other thoughts, but the content of every single thought is just a story.

Looking is the key. Looking once or twice a day isn't enough. Every time a believed idea appears you have to look.
Not think. Look. You know how to do it now. Eventually beliefs will drop as long as you look!
That flashes will happen more and more as long as you look!

Do you have questions so far ?
How do you feel ?

At the beginning you wrote :
It feels daunting and scary.
Is it ?
:)
You have looked almost everywhere and could you find this self/you anywhere?
If not
Is it scary as that thought say ?

I do have a question:
Just to be sure, when you say look, you mean look for the I behind an idea or thought? Please clarify the seeing that is to be done with everything.

Suzanne

It feels great to learn how to look at experience like this. Not scary at all. Mingboggling yes, but not daunting.
I can’t find this self anywhere. But I really need to practice and decondition how I see reality.

Thank you,
Suzanne

Yes Suzanne, as we mentioned before, LOOKING is not done by thinking. It is plain looking.

The term ‘actual experience or direct experience is used to refer to experience ‘right now,’ and noticing the thought stories about them...
as you know, ‘looking’ is just plain looking at what is here right now.
What thought says, the content of thought is NOT experience. This is evidenced by the fact that you cannot taste the word 'sweet'. When looking at direct experience (DE), you are looking at raw experience WITHOUT what thought says ABOUT the raw experience.
Thought layers concepts over direct experience. A thought (concept, idea, label) is never the actual. Some thoughts point to the actual, and some point to other thoughts, but the content of every single thought is just a story.
So looking to your direct experience is meant by this.
:)
